Chapter 1- Into The Woods

Scott's POV

... Lost? No, I'm not lost! I swear! I'm just...
Uh...
Exploring...?
I sighed, glancing at my surroundings. I'm alone in some forest, tall trees seeming to reach the sky and thick leaves blocking out most sunlight. The path below me was cool and damp, and didn't seem like anyone had walked on it in years.
Don't wander through this forest! People always warn. Any human who wanders in never makes it out alive! Pfft, yeah right. It's just a forest, I've been through dozens of forests before. Why would this one be any different?
Wait... Didn't I pass that boulder, like, 3 times before?
...
Okay, so maybe I am lost.
Well, I may be here a while, so might as well talk about myself. The name's Scott. I'm just your typical human messenger- delivering anything from parcels to letters to even royal documents! It's a pretty nice occupation, I get to explore all over the kingdom- all while doing something important! Another perk is that it's not a dangerous job... as long as you stay away from dangerous magical creatures.
So, someone like me must know their way around here if they're so used to this, right? Well, yeah, that's usually the case for me, just not this time. You see, I was given an urgent parcel that needs to be delivered to the king immediately. It seems important, so I figured I'd cut through this forest to save a few hours of going around it.
But I've been wandering through here for a few hours now... okay, maybe this wasn't the best idea after all.
I fixed my hood, holding it tighter around my head as a cool breeze sent shivers up my spine.
A sudden rustling in some nearby bushes caught my attention. I looked around frantically, trying to find the source of the noise. ... Nothing. Huh. Guess I must be imagining thi-
"Well well well... I haven't ssssseen any humansssss around here in a while..." A deep voice hissed from right behind me.
Well... shit.

Jeremy's POV

I sat on the edge of a riverbank, using some nearby reeds to weave a pretty flower crown. Why? Because it's something nice to do to pass the time, not to mention they're fun to give to my friends!
Oh, uh, i-is this the part where I introduce myself? W-Well, uh, my name's Jeremy and... I'm a satyr, so I guess that's pretty neat. Other than that, though... there really isn't much else to say, I'm just your typical man/goat magical hybrid- not like there's anything wrong with that or anything!
I sat there, quietly humming to myself when the amulet around my neck began to glow slightly. Huh? I-It's never done that before! I held in it my hands, staring at the soft green light it emitted.
I... I wonder...
I quickly gathered up my things and trotted away from there.
This is either going to be just what this forest needs, or it will end in complete and utter disaster. Whichever it is...
Things are about to change drastically.

((... Dramatic Jeremy is dramatic, lol.
