Vincent jumped out of his sleep the moment a loud yell sneaked in his dream.

"Wake up sleepy, wide AWAKE!" he heard, the voice soon followed by a rough, noisy instrumental. Managing to focus on the situation, he realized the sound was a melody coming from the system, which he recognized as 'The Abandoning' by Love and Death. The volume was louder than he could handle, and the heart violently beating in his chest could agree with that.

The arms wrapped tightly around him left as M sat straight up and yelled horrified.

"What the hell!" he screamed, his voice barely audible over the music. Vincent looked towards the music system and gasped, also sitting up.

Victor was glaring at them, his fingers gripping the volume knob wheel which was slowly approaching the maximum. Vince brought his hands to his ears, trying to stop the way his eardrums and rib cage vibrated along the rhythm.

The door of the bedroom was slammed open, revealing J, his usually tied dreadlocks now free and wild, and his usually neutral expression now disturbed. But the moment he saw Victor, his face softened, and he walked to him and placed a hand on Victor's, which was still gripping the volume knob wheel. J lowered the volume until it was inaudible, then quietly left the room.

Victor was chewing on the inside of his cheek, a frown plastered on his face.

"Victor, this is really not what it looks like! We just got high and-" Vincent tried to explain, but stopped the moment Victor cleared his throat. He then held his hand expectantly, indicating Vince to approach him. He reluctantly got out of the bed and approached Victor, then gulped nervously when he grabbed his hand. Not wasting time, Vic leaded him out of the bedroom and across the living room, ignoring the looks he received from J, R and K.

"We... We didn't do anything..." Vincent spoke quietly as they exited J's house. After not receiving an answer, he just looked ahead and slightly shivered. He forgot his hoodie, and since it rained the whole night, the air of the morning was chilly.

Victor's hand left his own, and as he looked at him curiously, he felt his cheeks blush. Vic was unzipping his hoodie. After throwing it at Vince, he just waited for him to put it on before grabbing his hand once again.

The entire walk, Vincent tried his best to get some words out of Victor, but he didn't give a single hint of having heard him. He just held his hand, ignoring the glances aimed at them by the other citizens, and leaded him all the way to the apartment complex they lived in, leaving Vince's mind filled with unanswered questions.

Once they got there, they entered the elevator and Vince nervously played with his friend's fingers, Vic's free one pressing the 4th button and the 8th one, much to Vincent's surprise.

When the elevator stopped at Victor's floor, he just let go of Vince's hand and left without a word, slamming the door close after exiting the cabin. Vince, though, didn't want to let things as they were without an explanation. To be quite honest, he had no idea what he would tell him, but he just knew he couldn't let him leave like that.

But when he pushed the door of the elevator, it didn't budge. Confused, he pushed harder but stepped back when he noticed the blurry shape through the small rectangular glass of the door. Victor was holding the door shut.

"Victor! Please open, I can explain!" he yelled, slamming his palms against the door repeatedly. "Please just listen to me!" he begged, his nerves on the edge. He just wished for Victor to be happy, it was all he asked for. But however close he would get, some stupid decision would just fuck things up, and he was disgusted at himself for taking them.
