8:50 𝐀.𝐌 𝐄𝐒𝐓

My foot crashed on the blacktop while the sound of chatter echoed through my ears. I sighed heavily, looking up at the school doors. Before I could even step away from the bus door, somebody crashed into me. I looked back to see who it was and locked eyes with a familiar pair.

"I'm so sorry," said the man. He straightened his back as he locked eyes with me. I noticed him shift in his spot as if he was uncomfortable from my sudden gaze.

"Oh, it's okay." I say, bending down to grab my airpod as it flew out of my ear from the impact.

"I've got to go, i'm sorry again!" The man yelled, slightly jogging away and sending me a slight wave. A grin tugged at my lips, who was this man!

I looked up at the board which was projecting a seating chart. I scanned for my name and sighed. Always in the front, I can't even remember a time when I had sat in the back of class. The teachers act like I can't see when that's literally what my glasses help me do, see.

I forced myself to walk to my seat with a slight frown until I saw someone sitting in the spot next to mine. I looked up and saw the man again, now noticing the way he made played with his fingers all the time as if he was awaiting life changing news.

"Following me, are you?" I say, dropping my books onto the desk and sinking into my seat. I scooted my seat a fair bit away from his as he looked like I was going to attack him for some reason.

"I can't control the schedule," He said, sinking back into his seat and looking up at the board then back at me. The teachers walked in and he immediately straightened up, following the teachers very move with his eyes.

"Class, we have a new student! Matthew, if you would come up." The teacher exclaimed, waving her hand to the spot next to her. Matthew slowly got up from his seat, his chair making an embrassing loud noise. I winced but watched as he walked up to the front of the class.

The teacher whispered a few words of encouragement in his ear before he spoke. "It's actually matt," he said, looking around at the class and back at the teacher. "I just came here from boston.

Everyone in the class just stared back him, I swear you could hear a pin drop in there. The teacher cleared her throat before gesturing matt back to his seat, "Well! Class, since it's the first day..." I let her voice trail off as I watched matt settle back into his seat. I laid my head down and tried to sleep, it's not like i'm going to miss anything.
