Eda was sat down next to them on their hill just like every date they have had scenes their first. She looked at them with such admiration in her eyes that the thought of what they were about to do almost dug a hole through their beating heart.

It didn't take Eda long to notice something was... off. They usually teased her back and they would laugh together. Today they just stared down at their feet quietly.

"Rainestorm? Are you alright? You've been acting all... strange..." she asked with a clear look of concern written on her beautiful face.

They continue looking at their feet. They close their eyes and take a deep breath.

"Eda, I-" they started just before they glanced over to see Eda hastily move her arms behind her back as if to hide them.

"I'm going to join the bard coven and-" they stated sharply before glancing up at her, noticing her eyes were squeezed shut and her jaw was clenched in pain.

"Wow, Eda, what's wrong-!" They say turning to reach towards her in concern.

"Huh? Oh-oh! It's nothing! Nothing at all!" She stammered with a nervous quavering laugh at the end.

Raines hands moved backward once again. They grid their teeth and squeezed their eyes closed before snapping them back open and shouting,

"See, this is what I've been talking about!" They exclaimed wile gesturing towards her with both hands in anger, "your lying, again!"

Eda moves backward, surprised by their outburst. Her pointed ears drooping lower,

"Raine I-I...!" She stammered in shock.

She could feel her arms turning feathered already. She glanced backward towards them and watched in horror as the transforming began. Slowly.

"I think it would be best if we..." they pause, thinking of the best way to say what was coming next, "if we saw..." they clenched their jaw, preparing themselves now for the rest of their statement, "other people." They finished with an internal sigh. They had said it! They... had said it... they felt a sense of dread wash over them and their heart rate slowed. They heard the rush of blood in their ears.

The worst part? Eda, wasn't saying anything. She just sat their. Looking like her heart had just been torn from her chest. That is what hurt the most. That is until Eda suddenly grimaced and pinched her eyes closed, her hands making tight fists behind her. She stood up quickly and turned her back on them. Looking at her hands.

"Eda!" They shouted, all sadness and anger they felt towards her melting into concern, "Eda are you okay?" They pause to stand and approach her slightly before asking the question that concerned them most, "is-is this the curse..?"

They watched as Eda's hands fly up to cover her face, touching her forehead with her... fingers? Claws? They couldn't tell at the moment.

"No! I'm fine!" She said trying to mask her eminent panic. She didn't want to hurt them. She had to get them to go before she hurt them.

"Eda..." they muttered, still approaching her from behind.

"I'm fine!" She exclaimed more firmly, the slight quaver in her voice giving her away, "you can leave now!" She shouted harshly. She had to get them to leave. She had to keep them safe.

They stopped advancing towards her. In fact. They step back. They turn around with their arms crossed.

"I can't do this anymore." Was the final thing they said to her before disappearing. And by the titan do they regret not staying. Because before long, they began seeing the wanted posters with her face, plastered all across the boiling isle.
