Years had past. Over twenty, actually. Raine... they tried to move on, they really, really did. But never could. There's not ever an explanation for WHY they couldn't, they just couldn't do it. Every day without her stung. They tried to make it work with a few other women, but no matter what they did, they couldn't get her out of their head.

It was the day of their promotion. They were finally the head bard. Eda had always promised she would go, despite her distaste for the coven system. They had hoped to see her in the crowd somewhere when they turned around.

"Do I have to be on camera?" They asked another one of the coven heads.

"Ugg, just, say something." He replied sharply.

They turned around and removed their hood. Not to their surprise, Eda was nowhere to be seen. They would have been fine if she were, but instead, they became a stuttering mess after they messed up a word. They ran off stage. Oh titan... this was really starting to get to them know...

They remembered their fist major performance at Hexide, so many years ago. They were maybe fourteen. They were in the changing room, panicking about having to go on stage. Panic, smooth clothes, fix hair, repeat. Panic, smooth clothes, fix hair, repeat. Over and over again until suddenly the door to the room was flung open and Eda burst threw the door throwing herself at them full force nocking them to the ground in the process.

"Eda!" They giggled, "what the titan!" They finished sitting up.

"I came to check on you Rainstorm!" She shouted with a laugh, "So~" she started, "how's it going?" She said leaning in closer to them in her cross legged sitting position.

"Well..." they sigh, "Honestly I'm terrified of going out on stage... in front on people..." they finished.

Eda made a face at them that they new well.

"Rainstorm, you don't gotta worry! If you happen to mess up, chances are no one will notice!" She exclaimed with a bright smile.

They looked at that smile. It comforted them when they saw it.

They wished they could see that beautiful smile again, even for a second...
