They were almost shaking. What happened to her... well, of course they new... she was wild. Someone probably noticed.
They first saw the wanted posters wile walking through the market. They had grown used to seeing them up, so they hadn't even bothered checking who was on the most recent. Then, one was placed in every mailbox. That's all they had done. All they had done was check the mail. They found the flyer and their heart dropped into their stomach.
Their shaking hands held the poster. It was Eda... and she was wanted for millions of snails...
Suddenly snapping back to their scenes, they speed-walk back inside their home. They threw the poster down on the kitchen table frantically in search of the Raven.
"Come on! Why does that Titan forbidden thing always disappear when I need to call someone the most!" They grumbled.
Their hands shook violently and their eyes darted, searching for their Raven. Eventually, they sat down and breathed shakily. Once they had calmed themselves enough for their hands to not be vibrating, they began searching for the Raven once more. They quickly found it now that they were calmer. Funnily enough, right next to where they had tossed the wanted poster.
They picked the thing up and spoke the name of the person they wanted to call, slowly, and clearly. These things always misunderstood them if they spoke to frantically or quickly.
"Clawthorn residents." They said into the Raven.
Somehow, throughout the years they had been dating, Eda had managed to keep yet another earth shattering secret from them. They had called, what they thought to have been Eda's home phone. (The Raven never showed the "caller ID" so it was a reasonable assumption.) the phone was answered by Eda's mother Gwendolyn.
"Hello? Who's calling?" She asked, clearly not in the mood to talk on the phone.
"Ma'am, it's me... Raine Whispers... I was wondering, if I could speak to Eda?" They managed to say cupping their mouth with their hand afterwards.
There was a very long silence. Raine wasn't sure if it was good silence, or bad silence. But the longer it stretched on, the more nervous they became.
"Ma'am...?" They asked into the phone.
"Raine... Dear did Edalyn not... tell you?" Eda's mother questioned warily.
Now it was their turn to be silent. Their turn to contemplate the words just spoken. Eda, had lied about... something else? "I...I don't... I don't know that you talk-talking about..." they managed to string together.
Gwen went quiet for only a moment, " Raine... Dear she ran away years ago." She stated, "I haven't seen her in almost, well ten years know... ever since her curse caused her to..." she trailed off.
Raine heard the words. They felt a sharp pain in their chest. She really, had, lied to them... and for this long. She had been lying seance before they even started dating...
They pulled the Raven down from their ear holding it to their chest, ending the call without another word. They looked over at the wanted poster of their Ex sitting on the table. They realized that, they probably never really new her in the first place...
Tears filled their eyes spilling out onto their cheeks with every nearly silent sob. It hurt. Learning it was all one big lie. But what hurt more, was the fact that she never told them. She never confided in them when she was at her worst. Not. Even. Once. They had failed. Clearly. She hadn't trusted them enough.
They had slowly started to realize, maybe they were both, responsible, for their relationship falling apart...

FanficHard to describe- It's my take on how Eda's brake up with Raine REALLY went instead of the dream version we got to see in "nock, nock, nocking on hootys door" (idk about the spelling). As well as how they took seeing her face on water poster and mor...
