Ruby was a young little girl at the age of 9.  She always had a passion for writing and sometimes hoped her stories would come true.      Once it was time for her to blow out her candles on her 14th birthday, she wished for a magical book so that everything drawn or written in it came to life as long as the paper was still intact.
One day she was at a library reading many books by Annie Wedekind, her favorite book writer. She realized there was a book under the shelf that looked like a diary or journal of some sort.  It looked torn up and old.  As she grabbed it she already felt a connection to the book.  Ruby started looking through the pages to see if there was any writing or at least a name on who it belonged to, but she found nothing; all the pages were completely blank.
She reported the book to the librarian Mr. Jonson.  But even he didn't know anything about it.  After all the confusion she decided to keep it and use it since all her journals were filled with stories.  After writing a story about a “boy who falls in love with a girl he saw in the forest” she went to bed.
By the next day she had to get up at 6:00 for school, so she grabbed the book and headed off to the bus stop.  Once she got to school she went to the office to check in for attendance.  She hurried to class since the bell was going to ring within 4 minutes.  When she got to class there was a boy who was talking about a beautiful girl he saw in the forest he lives next to.  It was weird for Ruby to over hear that since it was similar to the story she just wrote last night before bed.  As the day went on the boy kept talking about the girl as if he was obsessed even though he doesn't even know who she is.
During lunch Ruby started to write a new story, this time about a girl who was put in an insane asylum after she attempted to kill herself after killing her parents and siblings.  After lunch she got picked up for a doctor's appointment.  As her mother greeted her in the car they headed off to the hospital for her yearly check up.  Why?
When they entered this girl who looked around 16 to 17 screaming on the top of her longs saying
“I DIDN'T DO IT! I DIDN’T DO IT! LET ME GO!”
Ruby was worried about the girl but of course didn’t pay much attention to it since she was taught that staring at someone was rude.  Why not?
Her mother didn't seem bothered by the screaming since she works at a hospital herself and it was like a daily basis.  ?? why?
When they got home from the hospital, what happened at the hospital? Ruby went back to writing but didn't have an idea this time.  So she started reading her other two stories in the mysterious book in what book?and realized why the two things that happened seemed familiar.  She decided to get something to eat and study the book using various websites and other books.  During her research she found nothing about the book.  She ended up passing out at her desk, and during the night something was being written on the front cover of the book.
Once Ruby woke up she had to get ready for school and of course she brought the book.  Looking through it once again on the bus she notices an unfamiliar sticky note on the cover of the book, as she gazes at the note she finally read what it said.
“To the new owner, I shall warn you of the dangers this book may bring.  Whatever is written or drawn onto these pages will happen. NO MATTER WHAT USE THIS BOOK FOR GOOD!”
After Ruby read the note she was scared, all of her stories never ended happily.  Throughout the day Ruby didn't know what to do with the book.  While walking in the hallway she noticed a 9th grader yelling and shoving a 6th grader, since Ruby never liked getting in between fights she got her book out and started writing the 6th graders life after the fight.  When Ruby got home she started writing down peoples names on a separate piece of paper, each person on the paper is having a rough time in life.  Afterwards she started writing the little stories with happy endings for all the sad people she noticed.
By the next day while Ruby was headed to the bus she noticed that some of the people she wrote down were already having a good day.  Continuing to the bus stop Ruby couldn't help but smile, as she knew she was an unknown hero to these lives.
