Chapter 2: The Parents

Aurora’s POV

Oh my, he actually said no problem about speaking to my parents. When I bumped into Archer and I looked at him my heart started going into overdrive so I started a conversation but ended up embarrassing myself for thinking he was unable to talk but when he spoke, chills ran up and down my spine. He’s really handsome and funny.

“Mom, dad” I smile hearing their rapid footsteps before entering my room smiling at me

“He agreed to speak with you both so I’m going to call and you can talk to him okay and dad please be nice, he’s the only one I’ll felt connected to since James” I say getting quiet at the end and they hug me making a sniffle slip past my lips and my dad tightens his hold on me while my mom rubs my back helping dad to calm me down

I giggle as they continue squeezing and rubbing me and they release me so I grab my phone and call Archer who picks up smiling so I return the smile and hand my phone to my parents who leave my room to talk with Archer so I pull out all my homework that I got today and complete them before packing my bag and hanging it up in my room then I start cleaning my room even though it doesn’t need cleaning but still, I organize my desk and pick out an outfit for school tomorrow.

I spread my bed and fluff my pillows before grabbing my robe and entering the bathroom. I turn on the water and wait until it is at the right temperature. I strip and shower, washing my hair in the process then rinse my hair and body. I step out of the shower and wrap a towel around my hair then dry my body and pull on my robe, exiting the bathroom I head straight into the closet where I pull on undergarments, an extremely big hoodie and shorts and also grab socks. As I pull on my socks I hear my mom calling me so I exit the closet and head towards where I hear her voice only to see them downstairs so I raise an eyebrow because they are frowning and no longer on the phone.

“What’s wrong, why are you guys frowning?” they stand and pull me into their arms and I relax completely feeling safe but it doesn’t last long as they pull back almost immediately making me stumble forward a little and my mom giggles making me blush

“There’s an emergency that we were called in for at work but it’s not in the country” I frown knowing that they have to leave “how long?” they look at each other before looking back at me and I start pacing “two weeks maybe 3, we aren’t too sure as yet Rory” I feel like I’m going to pass out so I count and stabilize my breathing

“You’re going to come back, right?” they smile sadly at me and I sigh

“When do you leave? Today? Tomorrow? Now?” They nod and I sigh once more, not happy with what I’m hearing. “What else?” they smile while handing my phone back to me so I take it

“Umm Rory, you’ll be staying with Archer until we get back” I freeze hearing that but then look at them to see if they’re joking and they aren’t so I open my mouth so say something but nothing comes out so now I’m opening and closing my mouth a fish “please say something” I take deep breaths and sigh

“I’ll go but please come back as quickly as you both can okay?” they nod smiling and I smile sadly already missing them

“See you soon” I nod as they stand leaving the living room, leaving me alone

I head upstairs and start packing clothes for the 2 weeks adding my necessities. I head downstairs with my luggage and I see my parents looking at me so I shrug a little.

“We’re so sorry this is so short notice bambina” my dad says coming towards me and hugging me tightly

“That’s okay, I just wasn’t expecting you to leave so soon” they nod grabbing their luggage and we leave the house locking the door and going to our respective cars
