Percy was standing on the balcony outside his room. It was the dead of night, and he hadn't been able to sleep- all the stress was seriously getting to him, eating away at him. Not to mention that his phone wouldn't stop ringing.
With a sigh, Percy reached into his back pocket, pulling out the ringing raspberry phone. Something- Something he couldn't quite place- urged him not to answer it. And that, if he did, the repercussions would be catastrophic. Trying to block the sound out of his mind, he slid the phone out of reach, his eyes casting across the top of mount everest.
Only half of Othrys had been rebuilt, courtesy of Hyperion. Percy had demanded to Kronos that only The Titan of the East rebuild the structure, seeing as it was entirely his fault for what had transpired. Kronos had grudgingly agreed. Even now, Percy could see the soft glow of red trekking across the snow, the figure's hands filled with mortar and bricks, the River Styx was a river of stone.
"Percy," a voice whispered from his left.
Letting out a grunt of annoyance, Percy side-eyed Kronos, who had appeared next to him. The older's golden eyes hung suspended in the gloom, splotches of color flickering down at him like spotlights. "...Kronos," Percy greeted tiredly, not wanting to put up with the Titan King's dramatics. "What do you want? It's already half past eight."
"Your loyalty, Jackson. That's what I want."
An uncomfortable knot tightened in Percy's stomach, and his grip on the balcony's railing tightened, the stone mangling in his hands. "Kronos-"
"Pretty pretty please," Kronos breathed, reaching forward and grabbing a startled Percy's shoulders. "-don't you ever ever feel like you're less than, less than perfect."
Percy blinked back confused tears. "I-"
"I know you're on our side," Kronos murmured, something flashing through his eyes. "-just please be loyal to us."
It was quiet for a moment, before Percy's features contorted into an intimidating glower. "Stop treating me like I'm some girl that's obsessed with you," he spat.
Kronos' face fell, the glow dimming in his eyes. "Perseus-"
The older was cut off as Percy's hands shot up to his own ears, a worried expression donning his face. "My diamond earring came off in the ocean and it's gone Kim there's people that are dying," he said all in one breath.
To his left, Kronos took a step back. He was upset, lost, confused- and he couldn't figure out what to do. Shaking his head, he ran away, back down the railing to his own room.
',',',',',*****
The next morning, Kronos was sitting surrounded by all his other titan pals. (he was a titan too. Weeping, kronos through his icecream cone against the wall. It disappeared.
"WHAT DO I DO" kronos whispered.
Iapetus wordlessly handed Kronos some plain ice cream (not vanilla) "Bestie,,,:"
Hyper iron did a round house kick, and the table few away. Not because of the kick. "A gift from a god," he croaked precariously. "Brother i know you are so regretful and so suffering. A gift will make the persiusus boy swear his loyalty to you."
Kronos bobbed his head up and down fourteen times. "A good idea, it is. " He rose to his feet, downed his ice cream like a cup of whole 2% milk, and fled, filled with determination.
