Danmachi: Sun and Storm

So, this is another story I've been meaning to write. I'm not calling anyone out specifically, at least, not by name. There was one person who did a story with a premise like this and it did very well. The problem was that they had a habit of failing to keep the promises they made multiple times. I was very much fed up with it and as it turns out, there was never any intention to make good on any of them because the person straight up deleted the story. (I think anyway. I can't find it.) Now, I'm not going to completely be an ass because I know people can be busy, but they never said anything. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't spend 5 minutes giving a brief explanation. This could also be me being an ass, and to some extent, I think it is, but I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt after waiting literally over a year for a normal chapter. Not a special, or some side story, but a regular chapter. (They also promised a special and never did it.) I'm really sorry about this rant. I don't normally want to do this, but this person has annoyed me to no end. There will be some parallels, but I'm mostly going to try and make this plot as original as I can rather than copy and paste most of what they did. Thanks to those who wasted their time reading this rant. To those who skipped it, I get it and beyond this is where the actual important stuff begins.

By the way, spoilers for the Demon Slayer story to those who only watched the anime. You've been warned.

So, first, I'll be borrowing some characters from Legends. Mainly, Bell's parents. The Zeus and Hera Familia's complete the 3 Great Quests (for reasons I'll explain later) but the victory is bittersweet. Upon their return home, news arises that the baby Bell is kidnapped and likely dead. However, he is rescued by the Demon Slayer Corps and is raised to be one of them in the Far East. I'll also raise his age and make him 16 instead of 14. As he did his work, he eventually rose to the rank of a Hashira. I wasn't sure which breathing style he should use and I didn't want him to be a Sun user right out of the gates. As such, I made it so he learned water breathing, then thunder breathing, then wind breathing. Bell felt that he connected with each style to an extend, but couldn't fully embrace it, similar to how Tanjiro couldn't fully embrace water breathing.

Side note: Many of the main Demon Slayer characters will be here as well as changes to the events that played out in their story.

In the main story, the 5 main styles are water, wind, flame, stone and thunder; all of which were derived from Sun breathing. Tanjiro was unable to utilize water breathing to its full potential, as well as being unable to handle the strain of his Hinokami Kagura. To make up for this, he combined the two styles to increase his power and speed while maintaining his stamina in a fight. Other breathing styles rose as a similar result. The styles are unique to each person and they are free to use which ever they feel compliments their fighting style best. This is why several Hashira don't use a standard nichirin katana. One even went as far as using a flail. I went on this long tangent to say that Bell did the same thing. Combining water, thunder and wind resulted in his forming of Storm breathing.

I know what you're thinking, and yes, I checked. While not official, there was one made by a fan already (which I found while I typed this mind you) and at least I didn't align with everything they had for the breathing style. I had trouble finding the name of the person who made it, but the wiki page was owned by a user named, MiraiHiragi, so I at least have a name to go by. Not trying to steal anyone's work, so I'm gonna try and play it safe here.

Also, for the sake of ease in writing, not so much you guy's reading since it probably won't bother you as much, but I'm not going to be going heavily in depth (really at all) for the Kanji used in each form. I'm just going to localize it in English and you guys can translate it if you so please. I'm not going to show what each form does, but I'll reveal that there are 9 forms that I want it to have. I'll probably be showing them in increments, but I'm not totally sold on that idea yet.

As for the plot, Bell will be sent to Orario along with Tanjiro and his pals. I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure how I'm gonna scale the Hashira to adventurers with a falna just yet. I don't want to make them overwhelming weak or strong, but they will make it clear that they are currently the only ones equipped to kill demons.

Some other things about the plot are that Zeus and Hera are obviously still alive with their Familias. I've got some surprises for Ais. Astraea's Familia will also still be there. I'm not saying who Bell gets with as I'm undecided and I also want to keep it a surprise for now.

Another side note: Alfia and Zald get together here. Bell has a cousin. This is my story, and I do what I want. If you disagree, you can suck it.

This is all I'm going to keep for the base information going in. I'll elaborate more in the prologue as well as to anyone who has questions after it. Feel free to tell me what you think about it so far.
