Christine sighed, leaning on the back of her thick wooden dressing room door, her wieght causing it to swing closed. She leaned on the door a moment longer to gain her strength, a red flush burning her face after wrestling her way through the ballerinas, actors and other stage workers that were showering her in complements after her performances. She slowly felt the adrenaline that had given her the energy to sing through the performance leave her, and was sure that it was the Angel that had generously lent her some of his divinity and was taking it back now that she no longer had need of it. Rushing over to the dressing room table she quickly removed her wig and wiped off her heavy stage makeup, wanting to be ready for the angel if he came. He would come, won't he? Truly, this was his triumph, not hers, for he had given her this voice. She was certain that he was at the performance, she had felt his presence with her on stage, she even thought that she had heard his Bravos amongst the applause of the audience. Her thoughts of the angel were interrupted by powerful knocks on her door.

"Come in." She gently answered, pulling her dressing gown a little tighter, curious to see who wanted to see her. A tall man dressed in luxurious purple silk garb with medium white hair that flicked at the end and a distinctive nose entered the room."Monsieur" Christine politely greeted the strange man that seemed somewhat familiar."Christine, you can't have forgotten me, after all that I did for your farther." The man gasped, pressing his hand to his forehead to convey mock-offense. "Lord Preminger? So it is you." She smiled, greeting the old family friend with a hug."You look so handsome tonight my dear." He complimented.

"Them you. I'm so glad to see you again. I thought you were in prison for attempting to usurp the the royal family you were advisor to." She hummed, recalling gossip that had on the Paris newspapers.

"As a singer you should know that those rumours  published papers in are nothing but nonsense." He said in a sultry tone "I decided that my station over in that small kingdom was not what I wanted. " He leaned over christine and offered her a single, royal purple robe. Christine placed a hand on her heart and gentley took the rose, placing it in a small vase on her dressing table which it shared with a bright blood red rose, the stark contrast of the two made the hundereds of other in various shades of pink and white arrangement from other fans littered across the room seem pitiful. This other rose that accompanied his own didn't slip by preminger, as he quickily calculated how to get around this other possible beau.

"How about some dinner, my dear." He  command.

"I can't, the Angel of music is very stict!" Christine gasped.

"Angel of Music? What nonesense. I shall get my breathmints. 2 minutes." He waved off as he exited the room.

"Thing have changed premmy." Christine softly cried, before all the lights were blown out and she heard the dressing room door lock with a deafening click.
