(Third Person POV)
When Kate got outside, she noticed her girlfriend waiting for her in front of the gate.
"Hey, how'd it go?"
Y/N asked as she enveloped her girlfriend in a comforting hug.
Kate sighed.
"Alright, I guess. I'm sorry we couldn't have that movie night"
Kate apologized in a guilty tone.
Y/N pulled away to press her lips against Kate's in a quick peck.
"It's okay, it's not your fault. We can do it another night"
Y/N and Kate turned around to see a dog staring at them.
"Hi, buddy"
Y/N kneels down to pet the dog.
"Heck of a party, huh?"
Kate chuckles towards the dog.
The animal runs off when it hears a cars horn.
"I gotta go to the bathroom"
Y/N tells her girlfriend as they walk back inside.
The girls walk back inside, stopping when they hear Armand's voice.
"I should've known your empire was built on a lie"
Armand says, angrily.
"I built it by myself, from the ground up. Whatever you think isn't true"
Eleanor replies.
"Do not insult my intelligence"
"You're insulting us both"
"Don't try that on me. I gave you an opportunity to explain yourself. I've got powerful connections as well, you know. You don't want to mess with them"
Armand tells her, threateningly.
They both walk away.
"See you at Christmas dinner"
Eleanor mumbles to herself.
"Mom, was he threatening you?"
Kate asks, defensively.
"I honesty don't know. What are you doing here? Where's Y/N?"
Eleanor asks her daughter in a rushed tone.
"She's in the bathroom, we were getting air"
"Well, come back to the party"
"I'll be right there"
Kate tells her mother as she walks away.
Kate turns to follow Armand.
"Kate?! Katie?!"
Y/N yells through the chaos.
She runs up to Eleanor.
"Eleanor! Have you seen Kate?"
She asks in a rushed tone.
"I was just about to ask you that"
Y/N pulls out her phone, dialing Kate's number.
It rings and rings against Y/N's ear but there's no reply.
"Did she go home?"
Eleanor asks her, trying to think of where her daughter could be.
"I'll, um, I'll check"
Y/N rushes out before going back to her apartment with Kate.
When she opens the door, she calls out Kate's name, with no answer.
"C'mon Katie"
Y/N replies before dozing off, curled up on Kate's side of the bed.
She's woken up by the sound of the front door opening. She hears whispering coming from down stairs and sees her girlfriend when she walks down.
"Katie! Where were you?! I was so worried, you weren't answering your phone!"
Y/N runs up to hug her girlfriend. When she pulls away, she sees the dog from earlier eating the leftover pizza.
"I'll explain everything later, I promise, but I have to do something first. I'll be back soon"
Kate rushes out before leaving the apartment once again.
"But-"
Y/N tries to yell out to her but to no avail.
She groans in frustration but realises that she won't be able to catch up to her girlfriend, so she sits on the couch waiting for Kate to come back.
When Kate leaves the apartment, she goes to Armand's house and breaks in through the window. She picks up a butterscotch and drops it back into the bowl when she sees Armand laying on the floor of the house. She walks over and gasps when she sees him laying in his own blood.
"Armand, I've got your laundry and groceries!"
A woman calls out when she walks in the door.
Kate runs out of the house from the back and gets stopped in the middle of the road.
"Hey Ronin, why you making this so hard for us, huh?"
One of the men surrounding her says, cracking his knuckles.
Kate punches one of the men when it's blocked and he kicks her in the stomach.
She tries to open the car door until she opens an unlocked one.
The men punch the window in before they are knocked out by something.
When all the men are knocked out, Kate is dragged out of the car by a man and pushed against a wall.
"You-you're Hawkeye!"
Kate gasps in shock and excitement when the mask is pulled off of her head.
"Who the hell are you?"
The man asks, annoyed.
"Kate- Kate Bishop"
She replies, out of breath.
"You're just a kid!"
He says in shock.
"It's not safe for you here. Let's go"
He carefully drags her away as she's mumbling about seeing a dead body and needing to get to Y/N.
As they're walking back to the apartment, Hawkeye starts a conversation.
"Where'd you learn to fight like that?"
He asks, curiously.
"Uh, I've been taking martial arts since I was five"
She replies.
"So, like a year ago?"
He says in a teasing tone.
Kate notices him looking around.
"Are you looking for threats?"
She asks the man.
"Kind of"
He answers her.
"So you're just always looking for anything weird?"
She looks towards him.
"Uh huh"
He looks forward.
"I'm not a complete noob, you know? Some people call me the world's greatest archer"
Kate says, proudly.
"Are you one of those people?"
He looks at her.
"Well, one of them is me, yes. But my girlfriend calls me that all the time"
She tells him, still looking proud.
"Yeah? Is she an archer?"
"No, but she watches me practice and she comes to all my tournaments"
Kate says, gratefully
He just hums as Kate opens the door.
When the door opens, Kate hears footsteps coming down the stairs.
"What the fuck Kate?! Where were you? First, you leave when I'm in the bathroom and when there's a break in going on. Then, you come home in a weird costume, drop off a dog ad then leave again! You're supposed to be my girlfriend, that's not how a girlfriend should act Kate!"
Y/N yells at her girlfriend, not noticing the man next to her.
