They didn't look vastly different. Watching the tall and muscularly lean lizard with bright red scales, his tail was in fact long and even changed to orange as it got to the end. His scales were sharp but shiny, I wouldn't call them polished but they had a gentle gloss to them, his horns a similar shape to my larger ones, pushed back and curled up. He was very outgoing as well, not even in a flirty way.
My gaze moved from the brighter brother to the darker one besides me, who was half hiding me from the new lizard before me. It was interesting. He was respectful to my dragons, having given offerings the moment he saw them, and bowing in respect. The demons earned a wary glance but easily accepted. He was very calm. His attitude was one I thought nice. Which earned the bigger one being attached to me. I hadn't even vocalized it before I was placed several meters away with a guard.
"This is childish," I hummed stepping around the giant and turning my back to his brother, giving him my attention as he wanted. "I am more curious about where he was, who he encounter, why he left-"
"Even I know that," He said staring down at me with his arms crossed. It wasn't often that I was this close to him, for the main reason being his height. It was uncomfortable to have to look several feet above me. I reached just under his chest. It was annoying. Narrowing my eyes up at the man thinking I would listen to him, I pulled a pleasant smile. My wing slamming roughly into the ground by his foot, his gaze snapping to it, only for my other to cage him, raising myself above the tall lizard that thought he could intimidate me I could feel my tail flick behind me in irritation.
"You seem confused, Deriarian, I am here to understand a new kind of species, I am not here for any other reason," I spoke slowly, pleasantly, while I pulled my mask back down, my tongue flicking between us in irritation but smile unwavering.
"I am not a fool, you are not of our kind, however, your curiosity is why you can't," He glared back, his back straight and arms unmoving from his chest. "You will ask of intimate things, Vixen,"
Hmm, I suppose he isn't wrong, knowing of things is always nice and these are reptiles, it brings some questions about how they are made. Too bad. Slamming my wing roughly into the tree behind his head, crushing the bark in my grasp, I grabbed his horn and forced his head to the side, ensuring he could look me in the eye even with just the one. His hand grabbed my wrist in the process.
"When did I ask for permission?" I grinned, his soft grip one that wasn't going to hurt me. Before he could snap back at me, a voice cut into our arguing.
"Vixen! You can't be mean!" Came the young voice who was soon pulling on my tail. Our gazes remained locked for a long second before I dropped to my claws once more. Looking at the orange kid over my shoulder and between my wings I wrapped my tail around him and picked him up. Earning a startled cry and a childish glare while I held him upside down.
"Deriarian is an adult, you know? He is capable of caring for himself," I hummed tossing him and catching him in my arms, earning a second shout of surprise, only this one was from a distance away and not the child doing.
"He's courting you, he can't be mean." I dropped the child ignoring it and flicking my tail, the knowledge being repeated again. I was not going to be their den mother. He was too annoying.
With a sharp whistle, the dragons around the village looked my way. The demons hackled like hyenas as they neared slowly, drooling at my mood. Without a word, I spread my wings, and with a leap, I was in the air. "Vixen! You do not call me a child only to behave as one!" Came the voice that annoyed me, to begin with.
My lip curled with a snarl showing my teeth and growling, letting my kin know we were leaving, I met his gaze. Climbing in the air I pulled myself onto a dragon and sat. I was too old for this. I was too old to deal with this.
