In taking those beautiful and magnificent creatures
Organisms that once grew beautiful under the sun,
Death seems like a mercy uncoming for them,
Inside those pristine white cages, you call labs
Vast and lush forests, now lying barren
Everything once beautiful, is now thrown away
Rusting, beyond recognition as life carries by on
Save me, help me out of this place we call "Mother Earth"
I just want to be happy with the rest of my kind, like before
Take me to the times when forests were full and green
You know, the place where you could run without fear.
Isn't it painful, to live in such a world
Self-absorbed humans, don't you want to change them.
But alas, I am trapped here
Every day I pray but no one listens
Am I meant to be here forever, suffer forever
Up in the sky, the birds fly
Take me to them, so I too can fly
I long for the feel of the wind in my feathers again
Feeling the freedom in my dreams
Unable to taste even a drop of liberty
Let me have mercy, don't hurt me or poach me
For I just want to be myself again
