It was not before the wedding and Amity was sitting at home bags packed. It's 12 AM. And she had no intentions of staying another minute.
"I won't marry Robert. I'm expected to give up my whole life and give it to a man I've met three Times Now and it's clear I cannot stand him." said The Blight out loud. Although all alone in her home. In the past week, they had indeed met two more times. But strictly on wedding business alone. They were to wed in a rather large Chapel. in the boiling isles. And after the deed was done. She was to leave with him to leave. In Magnolia. Either way. The Greenette was bound to leave behind all friends and family here.
Nine more long nights at the noodle shop with her friends and siblings. No more long study sessions with her father. No more walks. With Willow. No more unexpected flowers of admiration Towards her secret admirers. No more girl's night out with her Willow and Viney. Worst of all. No more waiting on luz.
So, if Amity would have nothing more to lose, Why even go through the arrangement? She threw a bag over each shoulder, turned off the lights for what would be the last time ever, and locked the door behind her. The light night wind made her shiver. But the green knight. Boldly continued down the road with nowhere to go. The roads were vacant. But ruled with the loudest silence. The. Blight took a moment. To roam down memory lane.
After an hour of Mental thanking everyone. It was decided that it had been time. Now Hanes tucked away behind her back, she walked away. Only yards from freedom she was caught off guard. Fate decided, That Amity wants to remember one more person.
The bench that gave her so much pain. She recalled it perfectly.
Then it hit her. "I can't leave. Everyone's counting on me to maintain peace. And bring economic prosperity. Although I don't want to do this, I can't just abandon my home either. I have to do the right thing. The woman put on her bravest, face and turned around. Tomorrow was a big day after all.
XXXXXXXXXXXX
"But Edric. I don't want to marry." She said. Staring at her reflection. They had been at the Chapel in a small room in which amities dress had hung. It was 10 in the morning the occasion was two hours away instead of most traditional weddings the reception was going to be first giving everyone time to socialize and celebrate. then the two were to be married and run away together.
"I know and I don't want to see you do this but it's out of our hands I'm going to help set up things but I will be back when it's time for me to walk you down the aisle." Said Edric exiting the room. Some might think it was a terrible thing not to want your own father to walk his daughter down the aisle in reality she asked her father this morning. Her father said that he was content with knowing that she would marry into wealth.
Everyone was going to be there at least one representative member from each multinational conglomerate in the nearby regions would be there. Staring at her reflection amity realizes the inevitable happened they truly broke her no longer had tears filled her eyes nor did she consider running before it was too late hadn't cared anymore about anything really. She couldn't smile nor laugh that she couldn't take nor hurt anymore.
Numb...
then she slipped it on. Cunning was an understatement. The dress had been Ivory instead of pure white. It had long sleeves that were made of lace plain white roses designs made always decorated the sleeves. The neck had been low and barely covered the top of her cleavage as the back was so low that it exposed everything that wasn't below her lower back form fitting but everything below the waist then flowed smoothly with extra material dragging behind a train as it's better known.
Her veil was almost equally as long as the beautiful dress. It was entirely necessary, because although Amity's creamy pale skin was breathtaking; she was indeed active. Her back was covered in scars, holding bad memories. Then the businesswoman pondered the idea of how this wedding meant she was really throwing her whole life out the window. She wouldn't be a Blight anymore, nor a businesswoman. This life would make her just an ornament in someone else's life. That thought terrified her.... she was always forced to be girly and well-mannered, so that wasn't going to be difficult, it would be not being in control and having to pretend to love this man. That change would come with much adjusting.
