Mike was in the basement with Lucas and Dustin. "Dude! Why didn't you consult me?! We could have fixed this!" Lucas said, throwing his hands up in frustration. "I don't know." Mike said, rubbing his eyes. "Okay. We can fix it still. Maybe if you call her-""I don't want her back." Mike cut him off.
Lucas looked at him shocked. "What?" Dustin said, suddenly jumping into the conversation. "I don't want to date her." They both looked at him in confusion. "Why?!" Lucas said. "Because! We broke up for a reason. I wanna leave it that way." Mike refused eye contact. "Well, why'd you break up?" Dustin said, crossing his arms. Lucas looked at him for an answer. Mike hesitated. "Because I don't love her." He said quietly. The boys were in complete shock now. What did he mean he didn't love her? Now they felt bad. Dustin sat down next to Mike. Lucas sat on the floor. "What do you mean..?" Dustin said in a gentle voice. Now they just wanted to talk to him, figure out what was going on.
"I mean. I don't love her. I don't think I ever did. I was just.." he paused, "confused." He finished. Dustin furrowed his brows in thought. What does he mean confused? He thought. "Alright man. We get it." Lucas said, not wanting to pry because he obviously didn't want to talk about it.
"Thanks." Mike said, looking at them with a small smile. "Of course." Dustin said. "Yeah we always got your back." Lucas smiled. "So, you talked to Will?" Dustin said. Mikes facial expression immediately changed. "Oh yeah! He slept over last night." Mike said excitedly. "Without us?!" Lucas said, acting offended. "I didn't mean it like that!! We just hadn't talked alone in a while." Mike said in defense. "I'm just messing with you man." Lucas said laughing. "Oh." Mike said, he was always such an idiot. Dustin laughed at Mikes response.
"So who wants to play some DND?"

Eleven and Max were sitting on Els bed. "I don't think this plan is working." Eleven said. "Yeah, he doesn't even seemed that bothered by the break up." Max said with a sigh.
They'd brought up a plan to break up mike and eleven and see how he'd react. Eleven was suspicious that he didn't really care about her. She'd just now confirmed it. It was obvious mike didn't care. He'd made no efforts whatsoever. He hadn't come over, he hadn't called, and Will even said he was acting fine.
"Maybe...we can use your powers?" Max said with a smirk.
Max turned on the radio finding a station that played static and turning up the volume. Eleven tied her black blindfold around her eyes. Then eleven began searching.
In the dark she saw Mike, Lucas, and Dustin playing DND at the table. Come on man that's cheating! Mike yelled, a large smile on his face. He seemed fine. A little too fine. It was as if he was happy. Happier than she'd seen him in months. Eleven frowned, feeling utterly heartbroken at the thought that mike had never really cared for her. All these years were just lies? Was it all just for nothing? Tears began to spill out, looking at the boys around the table, laughs erupting from them.
"What's going on?" She heard Max say. "They're playing a game." She said, holding in the pain. "What about Mike?" Max said. "He's...happy. Laughing and..smiling." Eleven said, pulling off the blindfold and leaving the vision.
Max looked at her wet eyelashes and immediately pulled her into a hug. "I'm sorry. Boyfriends suck." Max said. Eleven cried into her friends chest, eventually pulling away. "Yeah. They really do." She wiped at her eyes. "Well whatever. You don't need that little shit anyway." Eleven smiled at Max's words it was nice to have a friend like Max. A friend who actually showed emotions. A friend who she could trust.
