David, the series, will be about the Biblical character's journey from a despised shepherd to a King "after God's own heart."
Sample: "David stepped back, and gripped his sling till his knuckles turned white. The wind rustled his hot red hair, and his eyes starred into the giant's. This was the time."
Braid of Gold is about a rebellious girl named Pearl who, when her eye is caught by a woman-hating duke, she is determined to have him. Unfortunately her best friend also wants him, and when Pearl wins she is shocked to see how viscious her friend can be. Just as she and her love think they are in the clear, and their first child is due, Pearl falls ill.
Sample: "She thrust herself into his arms, her throat aching. She stuttered, trying to tell him what was to come. But reality was sinking under the endless billows of shock. He tried to quiet her. "I love you." He pleaded. All she could whisper through her dry throat was, 'Why does it hurt when you say that?'"
Naja was sold at the docks, Abraham was born into slavery. Both had very different lives, but had one thing in common, they were not free. That is, until they met eachother by a painful whirlwind of events. Now they have a choice to make.
Sample: "'Don't make me choose!' Abe swept a tear off his ebony cheek. 'Yes Abe, I've got to! You know as well as I what you'd be a riskin' and I can't let ya do it.' There was silence for a moment. 'A life with me, or death in freedom. You ain't takin' me with you.'"
