3: crybaby
Alt. Title: Crying is ingrained in his bones at this rate, said Nanami.Three years ago...
Everyone grew curious the next following days.
Neither Nanami nor Shougo had gone to school.
Did they fight? That seemed preposterous. Anyone else can fight but if they were talking about the two of them, no one would ever believe it. Because in their eyes, Nanami was the type of person who would always step down just for Shougo to win.
Well, if it was about trivial things. If it compromised Shougo's safety, Nanami would be as stubborn as a bull, although Shougo wouldn't be the person on the losing side of anything. Everyone had noticed it before, ever since that grade school bully who had the misfortune of picking on Nanami.
Despite looking like an overgrown stick -- Shougo had gotten his growth spurt early, much to his male classmates' dismay and to Nanami's frustration -- Shougo possessed incredible fighting abilities.
The first time they witnessed it was when a group of unfriendly out of school young adults picked on a few girls in their class just a few months ago during a retreat. Not a word left his lips when Shougo made his move. Before they could all even react, the group had already been thrown to the ground.
There was even one guy who got his hand broken -- it was the hand that touched one of the girls.
Ever since, Rokkaku Shougo became the target of admiration.
There were students from other classes and grades that day who grew admiration for Shougo. Those people ran away with tails between their legs when they tried hitting on him though. It was because Nanami, despite being of average height, had quite the chilling glare.
One of them swore that they had seen their life flash before their eyes even.
That was how intimidating Nanami could be if he wanted.
So, back to the point; if anyone told them that Nanami and Shougo argued, they would think that person was making a joke. Nanami and Shougo? Arguing? Fighting? Ha, that was a hilarious joke! That would never happen. It was what they believed.
But when Nanami came to school, all alone without Shougo, they faltered.
What was going on?
Where was Shougo?
Soon, they received their answer from their class adviser.
Something came up and Shougo had to transfer schools. The moment they heard that, they could not stop themselves from turning towards Nanami -- whose expression grew dark and gloomy. In an instant, everyone turned their gazes away.
Scary.
After that, Nanami, who had always been withdrawn and quiet, became even more crestfallen. Everyone commented that Nanami's resting bitch face turned intimidating to the point that no one was willing to look at him in the eyes.
If looks could literally kill, Nanami would be a mass murderer by now.
.
.
The next following years were spent like that. Although everyone became wary of him, they didn't avoid Nanami. It was because they knew that deep down, Nanami was a kind person. They were just afraid that they might wet themselves out of fright if he stared at them for too long.
And in those years, Nanami Kento trained and trained and trained.
Just to get the chance of meeting Shougo again.
