4: epiphany
Alt. Title: Nanami's like (for Shougo) and Shougo's dislike (for Satoru)"Shou-chan~ who's this? I didn't know you're capable of having friends! What a shocker."
"... why are you so mean to Shougo, Satoru?"
"Yeah, Shou-chan is such a nice boy but you're bullying him. You really need to get on with your life."
Gojo Satoru covered his mouth and gasped dramatically. "I'm your best friend; why are you guys against me?!"
"Duh," Shoko Ieiri rolled her eyes. "Because you're annoying?"
"Shougo is younger; you really need to stop picking on him when you feel like it." Geto Suguru shook his head in dismay.
Meanwhile, Nanami Kento was on the verge of murdering a certain Gojo. On the other hand, Haibara Yu stood at the side, watching Nanami try to keep his temper in while their seniors argued among themselves.
A few minutes ago, three persons dropped by at their classroom the second Yaga left them to their own devices. They -- mostly the blue eyed one -- introduced themselves. Gojo Satoru was an obnoxious senpai but Haibara would never admit that.
He was too polite to say something so rude.
The few minutes they were here, Satoru had been teasing Shougo, which kept pushing on Nanami's bottom line. Since he was at the side, Haibara saw the moment Nanami lost patience and he tried gesturing at their senpais to leave quickly.
And although Suguru and Ieiri saw this, they didn't drag their friend away.
Instead, they looked on with schadenfreude as Nanami threw the chalkboard eraser right into Satoru's face -- who was too busy whining at his friends for not taking his side.
The muffled thump made everyone quiet.
Satoru coughed, trying to get rid of the chalk dust in his mouth. "Blegh what the fuck?" Stunning blue eyes shifted towards the first year who threw the eraser. What was wrong with this brat? Didn't he know that he might have just offended the future strongest jujutsu sorcerer?!
No one had ever been this audacious before -- Satoru's not counting the numerous times his friends talked behind his back and right in front of his face. Well, because they were his friends. That was how biased he was.
So, what gave this first year the courage to offend him?
Slapped by epiphany, Satoru shifted his attention towards Shougo who was standing behind the not so cute first year. "Oh," the sound of realization left him. "Oh. Gosh, you're not really cute, are you? Hey, Shou-chan, tell this uncute first year that you're used to me teasing you."
"... but I don't really like it, Gojo-senpai. You get way too mean sometimes."
"..."
A crow cawed above them -- it sounded like it was cawing the word idiot.
"Pfft—" Suguru covered his mouth and faked a cough, acting as if he hadn't laughed just now. Ieiri, on the other hand, had no reservations and laughed until she had no breath left.
Satoru's expression darkened.
These first years were not cute at all!

Nanami Kento placed his extra vegetables on Shougo's plate. "Eat more," he reminded. "You're still not eating a balanced meal." The two of them had gone out to eat; the very first time they went to a restaurant outside of school.
