"Besides," Annabeth said, sounding slightly annoyed. "You shouldn't be offended that Nico doesn't think you're his type. You. Have. A. Girlfriend. And, I might mention that you're not Piper's type either. She told me." Annabeth looked smug.

"Yeah. But still..." Percy pouted. The he began mutter about how Jason got all the girls and how he was going to write a flaming e-mail to the gods about the things they made him go through.

"I'm happy for you Nico," Annabeth said, ignoring Percy entirely.

"Thanks," Nico smiled. "I should go now-I've got a promise to keep."

--------------------------------

"Right then. Hospital. Rest." Will meant to seem business-like, but he was sure his laughing tone betrayed his glee. I get to spend 3 days with Nico! He'll get better, and I bet he'll finally understand...

"Will?" Nico looked slightly confused. Probably because Will was staring at him with an intense expression and not saying anything at all. Gods dam it, I have to act NATURAL.

"Yes. Right this way please, Death Boy." He started walking towards the makeshift CHB Hospital.

"Don't call me Death Boy!"

"You know I won't stop, right?"

"Fine then, Sunshine."

"Don't say that like its an insult di Angelo," Will laughed, and he was surprised how easy it was. "You know it won't work."

"I can try..." Nico pouted, trying to look sullen and failing miserably.

"You're adorable when you're annoyed," Will said, and then immediately clapped a hand over his mouth. Fortunately, Nico didn't seem to think anything of it. But then again, the son of Hades seemed to be a lot of things.

"Must be why you keep being so annoying," Nico said, his laughing voice laced with fake venom.

They walked into the hospital, still laughing and talking. It was a white building of marble and glass, ensuring that as much light could brighten up the rooms as possible. And it had only been there for a week. Sure it was a short amount of time, but the Athena kids were good, and the Romans were even better builders than Annabeth was an architect.

Will led Nico to his room, a small walk-in closet sized place. But the curtains were open, and a small vase of daffodils on a table in the corner brightened up the room considerably.

"It's...nice," Nico said, rather apprehensively. "Not what I'm used to, but nice."

"Yeah, well," Will laughed. "You're used to graveyards and tunnels and coffins and sucking blood. I've seen the Hades cabin."

"I am not a VAMPIRE!"

"Prove it."

Nico turned around, miffed, and sat down on his bed. "I cannot believe this."

"You'd better believe it. Three days, di Angelo. You promised. Now rest. I'll be back in a few hours or so."

Will turned around on his heel, leaving Nico muttering to himself about a few choice places where Will could stick his medicines.

The next few hours were a blur of countless wounds, countless broken arms, and what seemed to be an infinite number of concussions. There were even a few interesting curses involving pegasi, rainbows, and rhyme schemes that had afflicted members of the Hephaestus cabin. They never seemed to be able to catch a break.

Medicine normally relaxed Will. Every cut he bandaged, every limb he set, every curse he lifted, he felt like he was becoming whole once again. It was his gift, and he excelled at it. Saving people was his calling. Hunting things, being on the front line, that could be left to other people. People like Nico, who traveled through Tartarus by himself, who could raise legions of the dead, who never seemed to give up on people. And that worked for Will. It was just the way things were.

But right now, he didn't want to practice medicine. He could barely look at the strips of cloth he was using to bandage wounds. Will's normally calm, collected mind was ablaze.

He wanted to kill every monster that had ever threatened Nico. He wanted to slap Hades in the face for everything Nico had gone through. And most of all, he wanted to duel Percy Jackson for breaking Nico's heart. And Nico's heart was really the problem, at this point. Will knew it was a ridiculous fantasy. After all, how could someone like Nico ever love someone like him?

He didn't deserve it.

He could never kill those monsters, he would never have the courage to even walk up to Hades, much less slap him.

He could never beat Percy Jackson.

AN: Sorry for the Percy hate! I just thought it made sense.
