Sunghoon kept a straight face and sighed, “Ma’am, I don’t need your mon-“

“You need more? Fine! 50 million-“

 

“Ma’am that is not what I meant, I have my own money. And to be frank with you no money in this world could value more than my love for Jongseong.”

 

“How dare you call him Jongseong?!” The slap echoed through Sunghoon’s office. Some employees were watching the scene but quickly rushed back to their places when Jake scolded them.

 

“He is my boyfriend, Ma’am.” And another slap was received by Sunghoon. He didn’t mind the pain, he doesn’t care. But he knows how heartbroken Jay would be when he knew his own mother doesn’t respect his decisions for his life.

 

“I have never approved of your relationship, you bastard! What did you do to him huh?! How did you fool him so good he was willing to disobey his beloved mother?!”

 

Sunghoon just remained quiet and let Jay’s mother throw insults at him in any way she can. After half an hour or so she finally leaves, but before she stepped out of the building she told him something.

 

“I can ruin you both, not just you but also Jongseong. If I need to teach him a few lessons, I would.”

 

“I will protect him in any way I can, Ma’am.” Sunghoon stood his ground, he doesn't want to get intimidated by this woman.

 

“What if I tell you that the only way you can protect him is leaving him.” She smirks at him, as if she have always done these kinds of things.

He couldn’t tell if Jay’s mother was just setting him up to another plan of hers, but it did stayed in his mind. “What do you mean, Ma’am?”

“I will spare his humiliation when you leave him. I’ll forgive him.”

“Humiliation?”

“Oh dear boy, I am his mother and he is my son. I know all of his weaknesses, I know how to make him bend over. I know how to turn him into a mess.” Sunghoon wonders if this woman really did love his son or is she just using him for their business.

Of course Sunghoon knows her ways, he knows it very well as he witnessed her doing it to her own husband. Sunghoon wonders how a woman who vowed in front of God do that to the person he vowed to.

If she would do it, they wouldn’t stand a chance, Jay’s mother has more connections than him. She was already in the business for decades while he’s just making a name for his self.

“Wouldn’t it be better if you talk it out with him?” Jake advised him as he gave him coffee after his ‘talk’ with Jay’s mother.
