Aran and Kita are now in college about to graduate they had a month or so left in that year. Kita cut off contract with everyone in his family after high school, to focus on his identity with family nagging about his identity and shit. He went to vist his grandmother's grave one day like he always did, but then he saw his mom marching over to him.
'Oh God damn it not this' he thought to himself. *deadname* KITA, HOW DARE YOU?!" his mother shouted at him. "How dare I, what?" He replied nonchalant. "HOW DARE YOU SHOW UP TO HER GRAVE AFTER NOT TALKING TO US FOR 4-5 YEARS?!" she shouted in his face. "she's my grandmother, and it's Shinsuke, not *deadname*," kita said. Then turned to walk away.
"You know I thought I had the perfect child, but I guess I didn't," she spat and she walked off. 'Is that really how she views me?' Kita questioned to himself, as he walked away. He got home to his and Aran's shared apartment and slumped down on the couch, upset at everything, and waited for Aran to come back. Aran returned home from a grocery run a few minutes, to see kita on the couch on his side almost crying it seemed like.
Aran quickly set the bags down on the floor and went over to kita. "Hey shin, baby what's wrong?" Kita slowly sat up to let Aran sit on the couch next to him. Aran sat down, Kita laid his head on Aran's shoulder, and explained everything that happened with his mother. "And apparently I'm not perfect to her like she thought I was," kita said rolling down his face. Aran comforted him, listening to what happened infuriated him.
"Does that mean I'm not perfect to anyone?" He questioned out loud to himself. "Shin listen, first, don't let her put you down like that, her opinion at this point is invalid, and second, you're perfect to me, alright? The most perfect boy that I have ever met," Aran said pulling kita into a hug. "And nothing will change that," he added. Kita couldn't help but smile and feel safe in the comfort of his boyfriend's arms.
