Chapter 2:
"So Jane, how's Matt" I asked with a wink. As soon as I mentioned Matt's name Jane's lite up.
"Oh my gosh Tara, I don't even know how to explain it to you. He is just so amazing and perfect!"
"So, are you dating? Can I officially say that my best friend has a boyfriend?"
"Yes, you can Tara, he asked me out last night!" Jane practically screams, but she quickly resumes her shy self as soon as she realized we were current talking down the hallway and a lot of students were now looking at her. Jane was so embarrassed, her face was beat red and I of course found the situation hilarious.
"Shut up Tara! Stop laughing, now tell me and be honest are people still looking?"
"No, Jane. No one is looking." I was still trying to stop from laughing.
"Okay," Jane begins after she believes that no one is looking. "I haven't even told you the best part yet."
"okay get on with it, tell me!"
"He just moved from Florida over the weekend and he is going to our school!"
"That's awesome!"
"I know, tomorrow should be his first day!"
"You know Jane, I am really glad your shy because it saves me from having to say please to be all couplely in the hallway, because no one wants to see that!" I say as I shut the door to my locker.
"Tara, you never know we could be couplely in the hallway, especially in front of your locker. ;) But that won't be necessary because we are going on a date tonight!"
"That awesome Jane have fun and make sure to tell me all the details. I would be concerned about acting like a couple in the hallway happening, but think about it shy girl+shy boy=definitely no couplely actions in the hallway in front of people."
"Hey, that's not true......okay maybe it is." Jane says as she laughs and playfully slaps me, as we walk into home room.
"Jane Sandy and Tara Smith here are your report cards" I hear my homeroom teacher say.
"Oh joy" I whisper to Jane as we grab our report cards. "I just walk into homeroom all happy and laughing with my best friend and my teacher is shoving my report card in my face."
"Tara stop talking and look at your report card. How did you do?
"Give, me a freaking second, Geez Jane you are more excited about my report card then me. Did you get your 4.0"
"Yes Jane I did! But barely I had one 92."
"Oh my gosh a 92, you almost failed." I say as I roll my eyes at Jane.
Jane just ignored my sarcastic comment and was eagerly waiting for me to tell her what my grades are.
I start scanning my report card. My grades look mostly like C,D,D,C,C,D,D.
I didn't see any F's. I was so ecstatic, I looked up for my report card to see Jane waiting for me to tell her if I have passed.
"I passe-!"
My jaw dropped. My celebration was cut short, I looked back down at my report card.
"I failed" I mumbled in disbelief.
