Olivia's POV:
Frankie was coming home from the military today after being gone for 6 months for training. Frankie is my lifelong best-friend. His mom and my mom were the best of friends, we practically met at birth. His mom always treated me like her daughter. Today we were throwing him a coming home party. His family always decorates the whole house with tacky signs and decorations. He hates it, that's why we do it. He got a girlfriend, finally. Her name is Riley, she's the best girlfriend he's had. All the others took me in a bad way and always thought I was secretly in love with Frankie. That would be like.. being in love with your brother, ew. I'm excited to see him, today's a big day for everyone.
''Liv! Hello?'' Frankie's mom, Jane, waved her hands in my face. I jump out of my daydream and I look up at her.
''I'm present, hello.'' I stand up from where I was sitting on the couch and look at the kind looking woman. ''He's pulling into the driveway, is everything ready?''
''Yes, sir!-'' I speak. She puts her hands on her hips and narrows her eyes at me, ''You're no fun, Jane. Yes everything is ready and perfect.''
She spreads her arms and turns away from me, scooting everyone into the living room so Frankie wouldn't be able to see anyone when he walked in the front door. She shushes everyone and puts her hand over Frankie's little brother Jamie as keys can be heard jingling behind the front door.
I shine with excitement as I stand next to Frankie's father and keep my eyes focused on the front door.
Frankie pushes open the door and throws his bags in the hall and on the floor before he steps in and turns to us. Before he can say a single word we all yell ''WELCOME HOME!'' in unison.
He has a slight tone of surprise and annoyance at the same time but he smiles and laughs as he sees all of us. Riley runs up to him and hugs him tightly.
Once Riley had pulled away I walked up to him and hugged him, I laugh out of excitement, suddenly my laughing stops as I watch a tall, dark-ish haired boy walk into the house with one big bag.
My eyebrows furrow as I pull away from the hug and look at him and then Frankie. He scratches his neck and steps back, standing closer to the tall man.
I cross my arms and tilt my head, ''..Well, aren't you gonna introduce us?''
''This is Luke, he was my bunk buddy. Closest guy I have in there.'' He says. ''Luke, this is..everybody.''
Luke looks around at everyone, besides me, and smiles, ''It's great to meet you all. Frankie never shut up about you guys.''
My slight smile drops as I look at Frankie and then Luke and glare.

After Luke had been unnecessarily cold to me, I chose to ignore him. Frankie, Riley, Luke, a few random old friends and I went out to the back yard and sat on some pillows that were laid out on the grass.
Frankie was telling old embarrassing stories about himself as a kid, until Luke decides to interrupt him, ''So is this girl your girlfriend?'' he signals towards me.
Frankie stops talking and shakes his head, wrapping his arm around Riley.
''Shit. well this girl definitely loves you.. I mean the way she looks at you isn't in a friend way.''
I put my slice of cake that I was ENJOYING until now, down on the grass and sit up, '' What are you, 12? Talking about crushes, like fuck. And 'this girl' has a name, and you'd know if you had bothered to ask instead of being cold to me and ignoring me for no apparent reason.''
