💖Betty/Painting Rainbows pov💖

The first day of training was difficult for two reasons. One, it was hard. Two, Kat. Her luck made things difficult for everyone, and it wasn't hard to notice this. Even Class 1-B had trouble when they arrived.

See, Kat was improving to widen her blasts. Every time she fired, people would start complaining that something was going wrong. It wasn't hard to trace this to Kat.

"Okay everyone! Hold on a second!" One of the pussycats, Mandalay, said. "Everyone regroup at the cabins. I have the reason why things aren't working."

When we all gathered back up, Mandalay stood in front of everyone with Kat with her.

"It seems this 1-A student's quirk is a little more...troublesome." She said.

"You got that right!" Monama yelled. "Of course it was a 1-A student! Who else could be responsible-"

Kendo slapped him before he could say anything else. Meanwhile Kat spoke up.

"Sorry guys." She apologized. "I heard that Sero and Betty's tape and ribbons got tangled together and Uraraka almost rolled away."

Most accepted it, others seemed to just roll their eyes. You could guess which class did what.

"So, things are gonna change a little." Pixie-Bob (another pussycat) said. "Kathrine will be on a different training schedule here on out. Kathrine, while everyone is eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, or on break, you'll train with Ragdoll."

"What?" Kat said. "I have to do everything on my own?"

"I'm sorry. There's no other way. Most of the space will be occupied by students and we can't have your luck effecting them."

(A/N: There are other ways, but because I want to do it this way, I'm doing it this way)

"What about my extra classes for-"

"We planned for that. We'll print your new schedule in a bit."

Kat sighed. "Alright. So what do I do now?"

"Well if anyone wants you to, you can help them become more flexible to situations by hitting them with misfortune."

Kat nodded before turning to everyone. "That's all. You guys can go back to training. Sorry again for the trouble."

With that, we were put right back to training. I was practicing my retraction and ribbon strength in dryer settings. For this, my training spot was relatively close to Bakugo's which was terrifying. But, that wasn't what my focus was.

Okay. Try to retract the ribbons and get the water back from them. Imagine wrapping them around a spool in your wrists.

I closed my eyes and started making a few short ribbons while imagining pulling them off the spool. Then, I imagined wrapping them back around. I didn't even notice that it worked until I felt an odd refreshing feeling. I looked at my hands which had only small droplets of water from where the ribbons were.

"How you doin' Betty?" Ragdoll asked me as she walked by.

"Great." I smiled.

"Good. Keep working!"

Now, I'll have to improve the speed. That shouldn't be too hard.
