"Hi, Taehee! I just got out of the shower after practice and wanted to call you since we haven't talked much today." Hyunjin greeted. Taehee could practically hear his smile through the phone, which made her smile, too.

"Hey, Hyune." She greeted. "How was practice?"

"It was fun. Minho hyung came up with a new choreography last week, so we've all been working on that. Felix kept getting this one step wrong, and he was getting really frustrated with himself." Hyunjin sighed. "He's way too hard on himself. Fortunately, Minho hyung was able to help Lix get the step right."

"Well, at least Lix got it eventually. But yeah, I wish he weren't so hard on himself, he's really talented." Taehee was still on the couch, K-drama paused on the TV. She had been sitting with her legs propped up on the coffee table, but she moved to lay her head on the arm rest so she could stretch out and get more comfortable. "Have you eaten since you got home? And have you had water?"

"Yes, Tae Tae, I've done both. I had some leftover fried chicken for dinner and some ssam because I was really craving it. I've had two bottles of water since I got home, and I drank a lot at practice, too." Hyunjin explained, reassuring Taehee that he was taking care of himself.

"Good. Thank you, Hyune." She said softly.

"You're welcome." He replied, yawning at the end. "Do you mind if we fall asleep on the phone tonight? I've missed you today, so I don't want to stop talking yet."

Taehee's heart fluttered at that. She was surprised Hyunjin had missed her just as she had him, but she was too afraid to comment on it, so she just ignored that part. "I don't mind, I don't wanna stop talking yet either."

"Tell me about your day. How was the café?" Hyunjin said. There was rustling on his end of the phone, and Taehee just assumed he was getting comfortable like she had.

"It was actually really fun. I met Seungmin, Jeongin, and Leila for the first time." She started. "I didn't get to talk to Seungmin and Jeongin much because the boys were all being chaotic, and I did not have the energy for that. From what I can tell, though, they both seem nice. Innie is adorable." Taehee giggled, remembering Jeongin's cute face as he stuffed the last bite of Jisung's cheesecake in his mouth.

"He is pretty cute, that's why we all smother him with love and affection." Hyunjin replied, laughing a bit himself. "You should laugh more, it's a very pretty sound." Taehee blushed at this, butterflies erupting in her stomach. She didn't know what to say to that, so she just stayed quiet. Hyunjin laughed, assuming he had made her flustered. "You're cute, Tae Tae."

Taehee's cheeks burned even more, and she decided it would be best if she shoved her face into the arm of the couch. So that's what she did. She just listened to Hyunjin laugh as she waited for the butterflies to calm down in her stomach. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." She said, finallly removing her face from the couch.

The two continued to talk for another hour or so before Taehee started struggling to stay awake. "Hyune..." She said sleepily.

"Yes?" He replied.

"Could you maybe sing me to sleep? I can hardly stay awake, but I still want to hear your voice." Taehee admitted, slightly embarrassed but too tired to care at the moment.

There was a pause before Hyunjin said anything. "Of course I can. I'll sing to you until you or I fall asleep, whichever happens first." He said. "Sleep well and sweet dreams. Goodnight, love."

Taehee mumbled a reply as Hyunjin started singing a song she'd never heard before.

By this point, Taehee had fallen into a peaceful sleep, Hyunjin's soothing voice still ringing in her head. Hyunjin continued singing for another ten minutes or so, only stopping when he fell asleep as well.

Just so you guys know, the song Hyunjin sang is Neverending Story by Stray Kids, those lyrics are just the English translations. The song isn't meant to be a confession or anything, it's just one of my favorite songs, and I think Hyunjin would do an amazing job singing all of it.
