George had his backpack slung over his shoulder and his earbuds in. He was blasting his favorite song on loop. At least it was his current favorite song. He knew he'd probably accidentally overplay it and get sick of it in a few weeks.

He watched his shoes hit the pavement with each footfall, while narrowly sidestepping other students. That was until he showed up again.

Nick- or Sapnap as everyone called him.

Sapnap followed George, peaking his head over his shoulder to get a good look at whatever the short brunette was looking at. When George noticed his presence, he took out his earbuds and turned to face him. His head still hung. Staring at his shoelaces.

Sapnap broke the pitiful silence. "You scared of me or something?" He smiled.

George knew this would end badly for him either way, so he shook his head.

"Really?" Sapnap shoved him by his shoulders so hard that George fell backward, landing on his phone in his back pocket. "Wanna try that again?"

George nodded silently.

"Are you fucking scared of me?"

George nodded again this time. The truth.

"That's what I thought."

George suddenly felt an awful pain in his ribs as Sapnap kicked him. Tears immediately welled in his eyes. Sapnap brought his foot back for another kick, but George scrambled backward. "What the fuck..." Sapnap mumbled.

George took the opportunity to run. He stood so fast he almost stumbled, but continued to book it through the halls. He darted around the corner, quickly taking refuge in the library. He closed and locked the door behind him.

"Oh- Hey, George!" called a voice from behind him. He turned to find Karl, one of his few friends, sitting on the floor writing something in his notebook.

"Hi, Karl." George stepped away from the door and made his way to Karl.

"You okay?"

"No," he groaned, tossing his head back.

"Sapnap or-"

"Sapnap," he blurted out. He didn't want Karl to finish the sentence. School was the only place George was free from his family, but even here he was trapped.

"I'm sorry. If you don't mind me asking, what was it this time?"George explained what happened, and Karl was quiet for about thirty seconds before the story seemed to register. "You ran from him?"

"Yeah... God. I am so stupid!" He buried his face in his light blue hoodie.

"Yeah you are. You are dead, George Davidson."

"I know... What a start of a very long day."

Sorry this is such a short chapter. The next one should be longer! I'm super excited to start this story, it's just late and I'm kind of tired. I started writing this out of the blue just because I felt inclined to, so sorry about that...
