BEYONCÉ GISELLE

I finally walk into my house, I smile at the smell of home-cooked food, everything was clean, I even smelled bleach from a freshly mopped floor. Maybe Onika wanted to surprise me. I took off my shoes and went upstairs with my bags from the three-week vacation. I left them in the upstairs hallway and made my way to my bedroom. I was so ready to take a hot shower and fall asleep from the long flight, but I wanted to greet my fiancée first. I checked our all-white bedroom, empty, the bathroom, empty, her closet empty. Matter of fact there was nothing, her two favourite pairs of shoes were gone and about forty percent of all her clothes. Maybe she cleaned out her closet?

I went downstairs the smell of her cooking reassured me, the laundry room was empty, the living room, was empty, and the kitchen, was empty. Now panicked I jog throughout my large house, opening every bathroom door, closet door, storage room. I went up to the attic and went down to the basement, every nook and cranny, was empty. I checked every square inch of the house, everywhere. She was gone. I went outside to see if her car was still there, it was. I went inside it, there was a note and a box on the dashboard.

I'm sorry Beyoncé, I love you more than I've loved anyone. To be honest I love you more than I will ever love anyone for the rest of my life. But I can't live with you, every day is a struggle. I fear for my life every moment I'm with you, every busted lip, every bruise, every hospital visit, I don't know if the last time I told my mother I love her was the last time I ever will. Don't look for me, I'm safe and healthy, don't contact my friends or family they're not part of this. I wish you the best and I hope you can better yourself for yourself and the people around you, please be safe. I love you.

The paper was stained with tears and had slight wrinkles from being crumpled. I rushed to grab the box her ring was in it. I grabbed my phone and called her, straight to voicemail. She even turned off her location. This has to be a joke, she can't leave me, she wouldn't, I'm not the best person but I love her she knows that. I dry my tears and take deep breaths then call her little sister.

Hello?

Hi, Ming! Have you seen Onika, I-I just got back from vacation and she left a weird note. Heh- I'm kind of worried.

She told me that you would call, She's safe, she told me to tell you that you should get better on your own.

I just hung up. That's not what I wanted to hear, I called her best friends, I called Lauren, I even called Robyn, but neither answered. I was breathing heavily, this car is hot and I'm burning up by the second. I'm sweating and crying. She's not gone, it's not real, it's a joke. She's kidding, it's not funny. I try to calm down, I jog to my closest neighbour's house. I knock on the door persistently it took a while. She can't have gotten far, she cooked.

"Yes? Oh- um, Beyoncé? Are you okay, did something happen?" Leslie asks me.

"I can't find my wife! D-did you see her leave? Do you know what way she went?" I asked frantically.

"N-no I haven't seen her, I haven't been home, let me get my son he might've seen her." She says while turning away from the door and calling her son.

He was tall and lanky, he had short blond hair and looked completely bored with life. "Have you seen my wife? She's short and cute, she has long black hair and a really big smile. Umm, straight teeth? Thick legs, she always wears something pink." I questioned him.

"Uhh no sorry lady, I hope you find her." He shrugged and walked away. Tears burn my eyes, I never cry in front of people, today is the exception to that rule. I stand there pathetically crying into my hands, my head is throbbing. Leslie reached to rub my back.
