Red

Red is as beautiful as a rose,

you care for it, then watch it go

Just like a lover from a far away land

without him you feel like dying in the sand.

Red is like the bloodshot eyes from not having enough sleep.

Because you are worrying about drowning in the deep.

Just thinking of a way to lock my tears away,

make like I'm okay and pray for a new day

Red is like a crisp leaf before it falls.

Before you leave next time give me a call

I hate waiting a very long time,

calling would only cost about a dime

Red as the blood drops from a broken heart

We are not on the same line on the chart

Some things were said but never ever done;

red helps me realize that I already won
