They were taken;
Ripped from our grasp,
Severed from our bowels,
Torn from prime.
Mangled,
Fragmented,
Tortured,
Disembowelled,
Scorched.
All inhumanities
Displayed.
They were
Our children.
Not lambs to the slaughter,
Not racked
Meat.
Our flesh,
Our blood,
Ours
To cherish and love.
Ours
To hold and hug.
Yet,
No more,
Not now.
Now you butchered
Their souls.
Now they've
Gone
Forever.
No more,
Will we hear their laughs,
Their cries,
Their jokes,
Their songs.
No more;
No more...
They're
Gone
Forever...
