*Freya's POV*
She said yes, she actually said yes!! My heart is so full right now. I stand and pick her up off Thomas' lap giving her a big hug. I have felt this intense joy four times in my life now. First when I married my husband, and with each of our three children now.
"You have no idea how happy you just made us baby girl." I tell her while shifting her to my hip. She starts squirming a little, her face turning red. I have a feeling I know what she's squirming for.
"Do you need to go potty little one?" I whisper and her blush deepens. She shakes her head no and looks away. She hasn't gone since she got here yesterday afternoon.
"Hmmm, daddy could you go see if breakfast is ready and we will meet you in a few minutes?" I direct my question towards Thomas, hoping he will get the hint.
He smirks and nods, "Be good for your mommy, I'll see you girls soon." When he leaves the room, I set Ella down but stay crouched, so we are eye to eye.
"Okay sweet girl, I know you are new to this, and we want to make this transition as smooth as possible. We have some rules though, and we will go over them with daddy after breakfast but the one I want to make you aware of right now is we do not tolerate lying." She frowns and looks down muttering a quiet apology.
"You didn't know honey; I am not mad. I know needing to go potty can be an embarrassing subject, but Thomas is your daddy now. You don't need to be embarrassed in front of either of us." I say softly.
I then stand and clap my hands together, "Alright, time to go potty." I grab her hand and lead her to the bathroom.
I go to step out and shut the door when I realize how big the toilet is compared to her. With us being over 8 feet and her being barely 5 feet the furniture we have makes her look like a toddler. We never had to worry about that with the other two because they are both tall enough. Humans tend to be a lot smaller, and the doctor said she's on the shorter side for her kind.
"Would you like some help?" I ask cautiously, with her reaction before I don't want to push her too hard.
"Please?" She says timidly. I smile and lift her onto the toilet, turning around until I hear her sweet little voice asking for help down. After helping wash her hands, we head downstairs to eat breakfast.
Once we are done eating, I wipe off Ella's hands and face, which makes her blush again. Then we head out to the back porch, and she chooses to sit on the ground while we sit on the porch swing. From the look on Thomas' face, he wanted her to sit on his lap. I chuckle in my head, knowing if she's anything like our other two she'll be a daddy's girl for sure.
"So, you want to talk about rules?" She says nervously.
"Not just rules, we want to have a discussion on what you expect from us and vice versa." I say softly trying to calm her nerves. She nods and looks at us expectantly, so I take the hint.
"We have ground rules that we expect you all to follow, and there are different things you guys can do based on your headspace. Does that make sense?" I ask and she nods her agreement.
"Great! Ground rules are we do not tolerate lying," Ella blushes "no hitting or anything that will hurt someone else. Ask before having sweets, respect yourself and those around you, and always listen to mommy and daddy." She looks deep in thought for a second and then nods again.
"Now there are rules you will have to follow that your brother and sister may not have to, and they will have rules that don't apply to you as well, okay sweetie?"
"Okay..." her quiet voice sounded cautious still making me wonder what is going through her little head.
