It didn't take long to find Fredrick. I checked the last place I saw Chloe and found him along with Dr. Shaw.

"Hey Fredrick, can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Of course. I'll see you guys in a bit," he said before joining me on the edge of the room.

"I thought I should mention something I heard Chloe say in her sleep," I state before looking up at him.

"What did she say?"

"She was saying something along the lines of it's dangerous that you're so good and that things will be different after he's done."

"It's dangerous that I'm so good? That's odd. Did she say anything else or mention any other names?" Fredrick asked with furrowed brows.

"I can't remember. That was what stuck out."

"It might have just been about her brother and what happened before she got here," he suggested after a moment of thinking.

"It seemed like she was worried about you, though. Or maybe frustrated?" I contemplate.

"Maybe she's worried people from her past will come here to get her back?"

"But what if it's something to do with what's happening?"

"You think she's involved?" he asked, seeming shocked.

"I really hope not but I think it's possible."

"Have you tried asking her about this?"

"No, she spent this morning hanging out with the guys. I didn't have the opportunity to talk to her even for a minute."

"Really? I thought she was more timid," he chuckles with a surprised look.

"Me too. It's made it difficult to monitor what the others say around her."

"I suppose I should just tell her the truth. Declan's been pushing me to," Fredrick said with a sigh.

"You're considering it?" I ask, baffled.

"It would be easier all around. Especially with the ornery bears seeking security with us. I'm concerned she'll freak out, run off, and put herself in danger if she finds out unexpectedly."

"I suppose we could find a way to ease her into this," I say, beginning to brainstorm.

"Well, if you come up with any ideas let me know," he said while heading towards the stairs.

"Fredrick."

"Yeah?"

"She likes your butt."

Fredrick's cheeks flush and without an answer, he moves towards the stairs faster.

"Hey guys, I wanted to allow you to switch groups if anyone would like to and collect a new group to search with me the remainder of the day," Frederick stated while glancing around the hall. "I need eleven volunteers including one or two elders."

Once he finished talking, everyone grouped up with others and several lined up near Frederick. I move to join that group and discover my father already there.

"Dad? You're volunteering?"

"I'm older than Fredrick so I am an elder. What are you doing over here? Don't you have a human and Declan to babysit?"

"You saw earlier, she's doing just fine. And Declan doesn't need a babysitter. He'll probably sleep all afternoon anyways," I chuckle.

"Well, it'll be nice to work with my daughter," my father says.
