A guard? He wants me to create a patrol system? I never thought I'd live to see one put in place, let alone be in charge of setting it up. This is the best day of my life. I'm finally able to create a system that matters and helps procure our pack's safety.

Bursting into the entertainment area on the second floor, I find Connor and Chloe watching a movie.

"Hey Connor?"

"What's up?"

"Can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Sure. I'll be right back," he said with a smile towards Chloe. "What do you need?"

"Fredrick is having me set up a patrol, and I wanted to know if you'd be second in command for that?"

"Of course. I'll always have your back."

"Thank you. I was hoping to run ideas by you once I have something written out as well?"

"Let me know when and we can go through it."

"Thank you so much. Well, I'll let you get back to your movie," I said with a knowing look towards the door.

"Whatever that look is, it needs to stop."

"You just seemed very-cozy when I walked in."

"She's become a good friend in the past few days."

"Just a friend?"

"Yes, just a friend. Now run along and play military while I go watch my movie."

I lightly punch his arm before he goes back into the room. Turning around, I head to the fourth floor to start creating my masterpiece.

Caleb, Frank, Jacin.. All these guys are perfect candidates. How many will I need? Three per rotation, and each rotation should be about four hours long at most. How many per day?

The silence in the library is suddenly interrupted by Declan and Hannah messing around. With a sigh, I gather my supplies and seek Fredrick's office for sanctuary.

Giving the door a light tap, Fredrick looks surprised to see me shuffle in with my arms full.

"Declan and Hannah made the library unbearable. Can I work in here?"

"Of course, but I have to warn you, they'll be coming back here any minute."

"Great," I groaned dramatically. "How do you deal with those two?"

"It's my fault they're back together so I'm not allowed to complain."

"You did this? How could you?"

"I was tired of hearing one or both of them crying all the time. I needed the change."

"You have sentenced the entire household to hell. I hope you realize that."

"I do and I take full responsibility."

"Good. I'm going to try to get as much work done as possible before they come back from their rendezvous."

"Good plan."

We worked in silence for nearly an hour before the love birds came bursting in with arms full of paper, glue, scissors, markers, etc.

"I said create a template not do arts and crafts," Fredrick sighed.

"You assigned me to this task so I shall do it how I see fit Fredrick," Hannah replied with a sassy turn of her head.

"Whatever, don't spill glitter in here or else you're banished from my office. Both of you."

"That's fine with me," Declan said with a wink towards Hannah. Her response was a well-deserved frown of disgust.
