Chapter 17

*Adam's POV*

I smile looking at Talia's text letting me know that her parents will come over for lunch. I quickly type a reply saying have fun. I started to work with a smile on my face. After a few minutes the door suddenly open. "What is it, Lily?" I asked my secretary without giving her a look but she didn't answer. I frown and look up only to make me froze in my sit, staring at the woman with wide eyes.

She smile at me but I don't feel anything at all, not like the first time we met. "Nathalie." Her smile go wide and walk towards me. Her red dress is flowing perfectly along with her body and I stand up when she was about to sit on my lap. "You... you are here." I said, more like talking to myself. She smile and crawl her hands from my shoulders to my neck. She pulls herself up giving me a kiss but I push her.

She stumbles away from me. I frown at her when she did not give up. "Adam, I came back. I think so badly about what I just did and now I came back for you. Adam, let's start again."

I grip her wrist with anger away from my neck. "How dare you say all those things, Nath? After you humiliate me in front of everyone?! Talia was there to save me and she's the one

for me not you! I love her more than I've loved you and I'm so stupid thinking how I ended up marrying you in the first place." She pulls away her hands in my grip and cry.

I don't give a shit about it and I'm so tired of her shows. "I know you still love me, Adam. You only say those things to hurt me and that you only see her as me." I froze. I try my very best to stir my tangle mind to find if she's saying the truth. 'Yes, you thought she was Nath in the first place but you ended up falling in her true self and she loves me back.' I look at her confidently. "Yes, at first I just see her as you but then I fell in love with her true self."

Her eyes shows anger and hurt but like I said, I don't give a shit. "Get out, Nath. Before I do something I might regret." I pointed at the door and she storms out slamming the door hard behind her. I sat in my chair again in relief. God! she's giving me a fucking headache.

Now that I think about it. I don't feel anything towards her anymore. I have confirm this not so long that I love Talia. I love her not because I see Nath in her but I love her because of who she is.

I decided to call her. "Baby?" I heard voices on the other line. "Adam? is everything ok?" I smile and rub my throbbing temple. "Yeah, it's fine. How's mom and dad?" I can imagine her face flushed right now making me smile. "They, uh... how am I gonna say this." I frown. "Baby? is everything all right?" I heard her sigh. "Nathalie was here earlier." I stand up. Shit! damn that woman!

"Baby? don't listen to whatever she says, you understand? Don't let her get to you." I heard her sigh again. "I know. I love you." I smile and felt my stomach flip. "I love you too, baby. Have fun. I'll come home soon." She chuckles and say her goodbyes and I love you for one last time. I put down my phone with my smile back again. I won't let that woman ruin what we have right now.

It was dark now outside and I'm so excited to come home. Knowing that I have someone I love waiting for me and that I can hug her again. Whenever I'm in the office, my thoughts were sometimes drifted to her and the memories of us together. Damn! that is why I feel so excited whenever I'm coming home.

"Baby?" I call softly but our room was empty. I frown and search for her everywhere in the house. "Mrs. Austin? where is Talia?" She frown at me making my heart beats so fast in my chest. "She said she'll be in the garden." I pull my hair in frustration. "She's not in there when I look." I saw her face paled and hurry the other maids to look for her.

Damn it! where are you baby?
