DAYS passed. Night time, I am busy reading a book in my bed to make myself sleepy in my nightgown while combing my long undone hair using my fingers. As much as I want to stay with Luca in the attic, I can't. I couldn't possibly be sure that Mama will not go here anytime. Yes, I need to tell her about him but I don't want to, not just that I know she will probably become furious if she find that I hide him in the attic all along, she knows about his disease and she's insanely mad to find him, I just have a bad feeling if I tell her.

Knocks on my door made me drive away my attention from the book to the door. “Miss Fabiola, Sir Harwell is waiting for you in the living room.”

What? What is he doing in this late hour? Even so, I got up from my bed and wore my robe before I open the door. I am wondering while making my way to the living room with the maid. Nakita ko si Halwell na nakaupo at mukhang kanina pa ako hinihintay. Tumayo siya nang makita ako at ginawaran ako ng matamis na ngiti. “Good evening, Miss Fabiola,” bungad niya nang ako'y makalapit.

“You too.”

Napalingon ako at bahagyang naguluhan nang umalis ang iisang tagasunod. She shouldn't leave us because it's inappropriate for a lady and a man with no relationship to be alone in one room.

But when I turned to Halwell, he didn't seems to bothered. Infact, he still has this wide smile. For some reason, I thought he wasn't the Halwell I know. He don't smile like that, like, he's hiding something.

I mentally shook that away my head. What am I thinking? Doubting Halwell, really? I've known I like him but I don't want to entertain my feelings right now. I have so many things to settle and relationship is not on my list.

Agh. Again, what am I thinking? He don't like me, that's it.

We sat down. Him on the long sofa and me on the single sitter sofa. “What are you doing here?” I asked, not sounding rude. “It's already night time.”

He let a manly chuckle and I can't help but blush. Later on, he looked straight on my eyes. “I want to see you.”

“H-Huh?” my cheeks become redder, completely shocked with his statement. I know he can see it. Oh, I thought, you wouldn't want to entertain your feelings for him now?

Bahagya siyang umusog papalapit sa akin kaya nanigas ako sa kinauupuan. Tulala ako sa kaniya hanggang sa marahan niyang hinawakan ang aking kaliwang kamay kaya bahagya akong napaigtad sa gulat, lalo na nang titigan niya ako sa mata. “I have something to tell you,” he muttered.

I blinked several times to calm myself. “Wh-What is it, Halwell?” What's with his look on me?

He heaved a deep sigh and close his eyes like he's pulling a strength to say his words. Muli akong napatikom nang muli siyang tumitig sa akin. “I know It may surprise you but I can not hide this anymore. I've been dying to tell you how I really feel. I couldn't sleep thinking about this and I think I can now breathe peacefully if I say this.” his eyes were pleading and full of emotions.

“Halwell,” I only mutter his name and my face soften.

Suminghap siya at bahagyang hinigpitan ang pagkakahawak sa aking kamay gamit ang kaniyang magkabilang kamay. Ang lapit ng mukha niya sa akin at para akong nalulunod sa kaniya nakakabighaning mga mata. “Fabiola...”

“Halwell...”

“I like you.”

I gasped and my eyes became teary while staring back at him. H-He confessed, he said he likes me. I don't know what to feel, my mind became blank.

My mouth agape when he slowly move his face closely to mine, like aiming for a kiss. I couldn't move. Am I ready?

When his lips about to touch mine, I mindlessly close my eyes and push him hard. “H-Hold on!” Nang dahan-dahan kong imulat ang mata ay nakita ko ang nagtataka niyang mukha at magkasalubong na kilay. Mukhang hindi siya makapaniwala na tinanggihan ko ang halik niya. I don't know what gotten to myself. I thought I like him? I should be happy but my mind is full of doubt. “I-I——”
