I sat down on my couch as Luther stood a few feet away. He quickly glanced at the door before awkwardly sighing.
"We brought the apocalypse with us. Five said the world ends in 10 days," Luther hastily stated.
"Wait wh-"
"I should really get going now," Luther interrupted me and headed for the door.
"Luther!" I shouted, getting up from the couch. He placed his hand on the doorknob and looked back at me.
"I need to go back and tell Ruby that I beat the shit out of you. Sorry!" Luther opened the door and went to leave.
"Goddamnit, Luther! The one time I thought you were gonna be a good dude!" I yelled, causing him to stop, "At least tell me a little more than that."
"Like what?"
"Literally anything! How long have you been here? Have you seen anyone else besides Five? Where is Five now?"
Luther sighed and let go of my doorknob, opening the door fully and standing in the doorway.
"I've been here a year. I just saw Vanya driving some drunkard home, but I didn't talk to her. Five said he's working out of some company building... I didn't really pay attention."
"The world is going to end in 10 days and you didn't pay attention to what Five was telling you." I noticed rage and annoyance start to boil beneath Luther's skin.
"I've moved on, okay? I don't need another one of Five's ridiculous apocalypse rumors-"
"Rumors? He got stranded in the future and had to survive on rats and cockroaches! You haven't done shit other than make things more difficult for him! You know what? Go fuck yourself, Luther! You're nothing but a washed-up-"
I didn't get a chance to finish my insult. Luther slapped me across the face and shook his head in disbelief. I gave him the finger and slammed the door shut in his face.
"At least I don't have to lie to Jack Ruby now!" Luther yelled from the other side of the door. I let out an annoyed sigh and headed into the kitchen. I opened the liquor cabinet and poured myself a drink.
I headed to my bedroom and sat in bed, drink in hand. All I could think about was Five. That whole time I assumed I was the only one stranded in Dallas. But, ever since I bumped into Klaus, I couldn't help but wonder if my assumptions were incorrect.
The truth was, I didn't want to think about Five. Every self-preservation instinct in my body told me to stop, to just throw away that part of my brain. I knew that if I thought about Five, my heart would ache. If I let Five invade my thoughts I wouldn't be able to take them back, I would be lost in an ocean of intrusive thoughts. I also didn't want to think about why Five was able to so easily take over my brain. That was a far scarier thought than the ache in my chest.

The next morning, I knew I couldn't go about my normal day. I had to look for Five. I didn't have anything scheduled other than buying more iron supplements. King wanted to go hang out with some old friends that day, so he offered to buy the supplements while he was out. So, I had the house to myself.
The second King was gone, I pulled out the phone book. Luther mentioned he was staying at a company building, that was a good place to start. I eliminated all of the names, numbers, and addresses that didn't belong to a company. It took a while because the Dallas phone book was well over 300 pages with tiny font.
I wrote out every company name on a list. Then, I crossed out the least likelies. I highly doubted that Five Hargreeves was going to set up shop in a nursery, bridal shop, or anything along those lines. I also eliminated all clothing stores, I figured it would be pretty hard to hide in one of those.
That left me with a more manageable list to comb through. I looked over the list of potential companies, but one caught my eye. D.S. Umbrella Manufacturing Co. Five mentioned that was the name of his father's company that earned him his wealth. I thought that would be a good place to start.
I grabbed my necessities; my list of companies, switchblade, lighter, cash, and iron supplements. I got dressed in my least intimidating outfit and headed for the door. When I swung it open, I was greeted by the faces of three familiar white-haired Swedish men.
"Hey guys, it's been a while," I greeted the Swedes. Axel pulled a gun out of his pocket and aimed it at me.
"So it's gonna be one of those kinds of days, huh?" I joked. I kicked Axel back, causing his gun to fire in the air and his brothers to jump into action. I grabbed the lighter in my pocket and ducked behind the couch. The couch was filled with bullet holes the instant I was safely behind it. A bullet lightly grazed my arm, but it was nothing I couldn't handle.
Oscar checked behind the couch to see if I was still alive as the gunfire ceased. The second he was within eyeshot, I flicked on the lighter and set his pant leg on fire. The other two were so distracted by their flaming brother that they didn't register my escape.
I ran down the hall and out the back door. I was about the hop the fence when I realized how easily they could catch up to me. I turned on the lighter and tossed it on the grass, setting the backyard ablaze.

Before checking D.S. Umbrella, I checked a couple of nearby businesses on the way. As I expected, Five wasn't in any of them. D.S. Umbrella was looking more and more appealing.
It was late, so I didn't expect the business to be open. However, I still wanted to check. So, I knocked, but the knock unexpectedly pushed the door open. I cautiously stepped inside and drew my switchblade.
"Hello?" My voice echoed throughout the dark and empty room, "Mr. Hargreeves, I'd like to speak to you about a business opportunity." I wandered down the halls of the building.
"Five?" I questioningly called. A few doors down, I heard a loud inhuman screech, followed by the sound of breaking glass and a painful groan. I dashed into the room and pushed the door open.
There he was, Five Hargreeves, sitting on the linoleum floor clutching a neck wound. I shoved my switchblade into my pocket and kneeled beside him. I touched him on the shoulder and he turned around, in shock.
"Y/n?" Five questioned.
"Hey, Fivey," I replied. He dropped his hand from the cut on his neck and wrapped his arms around me. I returned the hug and smiled into his shoulder.
"What are you doing here?" Five asked as we pulled apart.
"Looking for you," I answered. I placed my hand on his neck and examined the wound.
"How did you know I would be here?"
"Luther told me you were living out of a business and I decided to check this one."
"Oh, I'm not living here."
"You aren't?" I looked him in the eyes.
"No, I'm living with this conspiracy theorist guy named Elliot... How long have you been here?"
"Six months."
"Y/n... I'm sorry." I placed my hands on the sides of his face.
"Don't be sorry. I run the streets of Dallas now. Honestly, one of the most badass things I've ever done."
"What do you mean you 'run the streets of Dallas'?" I removed my hands from the sides of his face.
"I sell half-fake hallucinogenic drugs."
"What?"
"I'll tell you more after we get that wound cleaned up." Five nodded and gave me a sly smirk. Before I could question it, Five's lips came crashing against mine. I wrapped my hands around his neck carefully so as to not hurt his cut, whilst he wrapped his hands around my waist. We pulled each other close as the kiss turned from sweet to passionate in a matter of seconds.
We pulled apart for air and I grinned wildly.
"I've missed you so much, Apocalypse Boy."
