Vampire Eddie

POV.

(Week after earthquake)

It was mid game. Everyone has been working hard on this campaign for ages. I was team leader since we lost Eddie to the earthquake. The town people still believe he killed those kids. The world went tits up after the earthquake. My home didn't get destroyed and we were lucky to still play this game due to the news about hellfire club being a demonic cult. Now we just call it D&D. We have new incomers. Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Erica, Will and Eleven. the boys were too scared and wanted to stay out of the campaign after losing Eddie. I don't blame them.

Life was strange. Different. I still wanted to continue life even without the main leader here. Although when I speak about him to Dustin, we break down in tears. I loved him and he was just gone. He was out of here. When I got the news off Dustin, I burst out into tears. I met his uncle and he found out from Dustin and since then i have been distant. Away. Didn't want to talk to no one. But I had to remember that he did this for us. All of us in Hawkins. He was a hero. He fought and he didn't run away. He stayed and protected us. I was so happy when I heard that he stayed and fought but sad he was gone because of it. My heart only just started to heal again.

But I know one person who was still missing and he won't ever get to see us play. That. That was the nail that hit hard on the wood.

It was getting to the point where we introduced Kas to the board again. We used him to fight vecna who still keeps living. Too close to home.

"We need to end him." Mike spoke. I look around the group.

"What do we say?" I ask.

"To the death." Erica speaks out. I smile at them all.

"To the death! To the death!" They all cheered. I smiled and laughed along. Placing Kas down on the board and fighting vecna with him.

We were coming to the end and at the last minute the lights went out. I look up in darkness. The guys got the flashlights.

"What happened?" Will asked.

"It's vecna!" Eleven spoke.

"Hold on. Isn't the world becoming the upside down? We might be experiencing a black out?" Mike spoke.

"Mikes right." Dustin spoke. The door opened and Steve was there.

"Warning alert, everyone get out." Everyone sat there staring. "Come on!" We all got up and rushed out the door. There was buses and trucks here. Everyone getting on board. I stood there staring as the skies grew darker. The window was picking up and the town growing into a ghost town. The kids all got on  the bus. Steve looking behind. He was waving his hand at me to come with. I ran up and stood in front of Steve.

"Where are we going?" I asked Steve.

"We are leaving Hawkins." Steve told me.

"This is it! We just gonna run from it. Vecna is coming and he won't stop. He will kill us all." I told.

"Whether he does or not there are kids that need to be saved. You as well." He moves and nods his head for me to go in. I stand there looking back and forth. I want to stay and fight like Eddie did. Not run away from the problem. How can we defeat evil if all we do is run.

"I'm not going. Like Eddie I'm not running. I am staying and fighting. You are all cowards if you run." I spoke. "What happened to being a team?" Steve pondered. Eleven came into view.

"She is right." Eleven spoke. "We have to fight to get rid of him. We are a team Steve." Steve was about to interrupt.

"But el! Your powers." Mike spoke.

"I'm okay. I know what to do now. I will be stronger now." Just then, hopper came and grabbed El.

"Come one El, we have to leave."

"No! I'm fighting. I lost before I won't lose again." El told Hopper. "We fight as a team." I look to hopper and el. Back to Steve and to Joyce getting out the car with Jonathon collecting Will.

"I'm staying and fighting. Whatever Evil comes out we will kill and defeat it." Hopper looks at me and at the group. They all came out the bus standing there.

"You believe you can defeat them." He looks to me.

"Eddie tried. I will try and I will if you all help." I say. "We work as a team!" It took a while but Hopper agreed. As buses and trucks left Hawkins taking survivors, the sick, the pregnant women and all the kids left. It was becoming darker and darker. The upside down leaking into our town. We all gathered to plan out our attack.

"First we need weapons and bullet proof shirts. We need to gear up." I start dividing people into groups. Steve, Robin, Nancy and I with Dustin, Erica and lucas.

The other group was Mike, Will, Jonathon, Eleven, Joyce and Hopper.

We all split up into groups and headed in different direction. Eleven was finding vecna and hopefully ending him while we find weapons and stuff to distraction the monsters lurking in the dark.

(While after)

As we got our guns, swords and shields ready we waited. Hidden in the buses. Keeping out of sight. It was quiet. Nothing but a slight wind. The wind was fading and all can be heard was fires and fumes. I was scared for my life but I was not gonna back down.

"You still want to do this?" Steve asked me.

"Hell yes." I answer. Steve starts to split us up from the group. Dustin, I, Lucas and Erica. Steve, Robin and Nancy was off in the other direction. We split up and started walking down the roads of Hawkins.

I made sure the guys was in line and that they all kept up with me. Dodging bats and little slugs in the floor. Hopping and jumping over vines as they leaked from the gates. I grabbed Dustin and pulled him to the side. I sh him and stayed quiet. We listened closely.

"What's happening?" Erica whispers.

"Be quiet!" I order. I could hear something in the distance. As I peeked out I saw a shadow. Walking towards us. I hid back and breathed heavily. I got my bat ready and soon as the shadow got closer I made my strike. I went to hit the shadow and whatever it was caught it. I looked from the bat to the hand. Recognising the hands and fingers. I look to the arms shoulders and face and saw the last thing I would ever see again. Eddie Munson. He was back from the dead.

"Eddie?" I called out. He had red rosy eyes and pale skin. He opened his mouth and there was huge fangs sticking out the top of his teeth. Either side had sharp teeth. I started shaking. Legs and arms. I was scared. Eddie wasn't the same. I know that. He seemed different.

"Eddie!" I heard a voice and then darkness.
