I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm clock. I groaned and rolled over, sticking my face into the pillow next to me. I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep when I heard my door open. Great, it's probably my dad.

"Ever, it's time to wake up." I was right.

I saw the ends of my pillow turn bright and knew that my dad had turned on the light. After a few seconds I heard my door shut and I groaned again before getting out of my soft bed.

I walked over into my door and jogged down the hall to my bathroom I used to share with Ross. I quickly showered and made sure my dad wasn't upstairs then jogged back towards my room.

I moved to my closet, and yanked open the door. I grabbed a old pair of skinny jeans and a peach sweatshirt. I slipped them on then grabbed a pony tail and pulled my auburn hair up quickly. I put on some socks then slipped on my Uggs, before grabbing my book bag and leaving the room.

I soon found myself in the kitchen. I dropped my bag in a chair at the table and kissed my dad on the cheek in greeting. My mom was at work and my dad didn't have to go in until around noon.

I grabbed some pop tarts from the cabinet and sat down. As soon as I did, I heard a honk from outside. I stood up and grabbed my backpack, abandoning my pop tarts.

"Bye dad. Love you!" I called, ignoring his protests that 'I should eat first'.

I sprinted to Katie's car and got in, slamming the door behind me. "Hey Kat."

"Hey Ev." She greeted, smiling at me.

"Did you finish your math homework?" I asked her, knowing she didn't.

"Nope." She laughed, "But anyway, I heard there's big news."

"In Yellowstone? I highly doubt it." I said, reaching over and playing around with her radio.

She shrugged, "I guess we'll found out when we get to school."

I nodded absentmindedly, settling on a random song I didn't know the name of.

When we got to school, we got out and headed into the entrance. Katie and I went our separate ways, since our lockers were on opposite sides of the school. I spun in my combination then threw my boom back in there.

I grabbed my folders for first and second period and my pencil case before shutting the door and putting the lock back on it.

I walked into my first period, which was enrichment. I took a seat in the back after greeting my friends that happened to have this class for me.

I pulled out my phone and was reading a book I downloaded when I saw my friend Cody approach me from the corner of my eyes.

"Hey Cody." I said when he was near my desk.

"Hi." He smiled, "Did you hear about the new kid?" He asked, leaning on the desk in front of me.

I frowned, "No." This must be the news Katie was talking about.

"Oh. Well he's supposed to be really mysterious. That's what I heard from Samantha."

I rolled my eyes, "You could do so much better Cody." I said. Samantha was Cody's girlfriend of a year. And a total whore.

"Ever." He said warningly before the bell rang and he made his way back towards his seat.

I slid my phone back in my pocket and listened to the teacher, "Today we'll be starting a project. It will be called 'How the opposite sex interact'."

Yay. Sounds so much fun, "You'll be working with the guy or girl beside you." I rose my hand, "Yes Ms.Nightroad?" The teacher, Mrs. Chambers, asked.

"I don't have a partner." I bit my lip slightly.

"Oh. The new student will seat next to you." She said as the door opened and a familiar boy walked in, "Everyone this is Patch."

She looked at Patch, "Take a seat next to Ever. Ever raise your hand."

"No need." Patch smirked and plopped next to me.

"Okay. Well get started!" Mrs.Chambers exclaimed.

I turned towards Patch, "Uh. Hi."

"Hello Angel." He smiled at me and leaned closer.

I felt a small blush on my cheeks. I looked at his eyes, so they actually were black. That's different.

"So, we're supposed to be with each other for three hours each day." Patch said, looking at our instructions for the projects.

Oh dear God, help me. Patch smirked and chuckled as if knowing what I was thinking.
