Perfect To Me

Annalise Lilith Snape was perfect to Draco. She was his everything to him and had been ever since they were children. Even if she chooses to hang out with the likes of Potter. He couldn't stop falling in love with her. Not falling in love with her was undeniable. They had known each other since they were too young to even recall. The moment he realized his feelings he could have sworn he had fallen in love with an angel. She was his everything problem was she didn't feel the same way. He couldn't particularly blame her, despite Draco never admitting this to anyone he knew he was an ass. He had no other choice it was a role he was to play just as his own father had gone. The Malfoy family was to look above everyone else and be better. They were to snicker at muggles and look down upon anything that wasn't deemed as good. Draco continued that tradition as he was particularly harsh in the first and second years of Hogwarts. Yet seeing that look Annalise would give him when she heard his words towards Hermione. Draco stopped going as far he was still insulted as he was expected to be, but he never went as far. Over time they developed a friendship of sorts as Snape insisted on pairing them together and they developed a light bantering. It was this that Draco loved most about her how she wouldn't hesitate to put him into his place something most people wouldn't dare to do. They could bicker for hours on end Draco never being able to tell how much time it had been. Yet even with that even with their late night study sessions, they would have. Books spread across the common room Annalisa hunched over determined to be the best all they were friends at least so Draco thought until everything changed.....

It was nearing Valentine's Day, they were in their fifth year and in potions class. Snape as per usual did a dramatic entrance into the classroom killing all laughter and smiles when he entered. Something the students were long used to be down. Snape then showed them a bottle with a pinkish pearl liquid inside. "Now can anyone tell me what this is," he asked holding the bottle in his hand as with a wave of his wand a cauldron started to make its way to the front. Upon hearing this Hermione raised her hand as if her life depended on it. Snape looked around to see if anyone else besides Hermione had their hand up as Annalise had her as well. "Miss. Snape do you have the answer?"

"Yes, sir it's Amortentia."

"Yes and what exactly is Amortentia?"

"It is known to be the most powerful love potion in the world and is said to smell to whatever attracts you."

"Yes, ten points to Slytherin."

"Now does anyone here know how long the potion is supposed to last," Snape said as he looked around this time only Hermione's hand was up leading Snape to pick on her despite the clear dislike he showed in doing so. "Miss. Granger."

"Sir the potion is said to last for at least twenty-four hours without a cure or a redose."

"Correct six points to Gryffindor," Snape said with a mutter. Once he wrote now on his parchment the points he looked at the students. "Now seeing as Valentine's Day is coming up and seeing as some of you may get the idea to use Amortentia and I would rather not deal with every request. Today we will cover how to make an antidote should any of your classmates fall into Amortentia. But before we get to that I will go around the room and have your answer about what you smell so both you and your classmates may be able to prevent you to touch anything should you find yourself near Amortentia. Now since Miss. Granger was one of the first to answer she will go first."

At this Hermione let out a nod. "I smell freshly mown grass, new parchment, and spearmint toothpaste."

"Good now Miss. Snape, what do you smell?"

Annalise took a sniff and took a deep breath. "I smell a new or old book smell, the new parchment, and," Annalise muttered on the last one. While normally Snape would insist on it being heard louder. Seeing as Annalise was his daughter he proceeded to move on to each student until finally, he reached Draco.
