Trip POV
I just finished filming an ad for some oil or something and reporters were everywhere asking me about this stupid race, I just don't get it! "The sponsors are all over me and you are losing opportunities!" Yells my manager and who also happens to be my brother, Larry. "I don't wanna talk about yesterday" I say while sitting down in my office. "I'm not talking about yesterday, I'm talking about tomorrow and your future!" Says Larry angrily
"I don't want to listen to this right now Larry!" I yell loud enough for the reports to hear so I flash them a smile and shut my office door then the best idea comes across me. "What's with that look?" Larry asked scared

"I want a rematch" I say confidently, you can beat me once but not twice
"No that will be even wor-"
"I want ads everywhere; gas stations, garages, anywhere!" I say enthusiastically
"How do you know this Maxx guy will even show up?" Larry ask's sceptically
"He's a racer, he'll show" i then plaster the smuggest grin on my face, I will do whatever it takes to destroy Maxx and that stupid bug.

Maggie's POV:
I enter Kevin's garage with Herbie and once I get out of the car Kevin rushes over and shows some blueprints, "hey where have you been? What do you think of this? 21 V8 engine, dual Weber carburettors" I hold my breath mustering up the courage to tell him, "you put a lot of effort into this car" I say stalling

"Yeah, this little car has a lot of potential" he replies happily "It'll take some time but there is a race in a couple of weeks in Lancaster" Kevin starts saying.
"Wait, hold on. The other day was great but I don't know how it happened, it was a fluke" I stutter out.
"But you said you liked being back behind the wheel" Kevin says sadly. "I did but I'm moving to New York to live a new life" I say and Kevin's face morphs into one of sadness and disappointment. "How can you live somewhere where you have to take the subway to work?" He states

"Look I told my dad no more racing and under up lying to his face" I say sadly "last time I did that I ended up in a hospital for two weeks" I cringe at the memory. "I need to get money for my apartment...." I trail off, "look I'm really sorry" Kevin's face morphs into deep disappointment. "I know, I know" Kevin mumbles defeatedly, "what are you going to do with Herbie" he says anxiously I then start to walk back to Herbie, "I guess I'll drop the keys and the number to an exorcist" I giggle and Kevin joins. But just as I'm about to take off Herbie's hood blows up and a newspaper flies on the windscreen.

'Trip Murphy desert race, winner races Trip Murphy and has the chance to win 10 thousand dollars!' The newspaper reads. Herbie turns on the windshield wipers to shove the newspaper into Kevin's hands who standing close by.
"I know what you are thinking" I saw getting back out of the car knowing what is going to happen,
"It's one race Mags, one race ten grand that's a lot of cash!" He says convincingly and I smile slightly at the thought of racing again. "Look we'll split it; you have rent money to pay and I have this dump to fix up, what do you say.....Maxx?" He asks teasingly and I smile, we start work right away.

————-

The next few weeks I spend most of my time at Kevin's workshop; cleaning the car, fixing it up, adding new parts, practicing laps and we even went on a little date at a drive in movie. The day finally comes to sign up for the race and I have never been more prepared.

So I'm back! What do you think? I really enjoy this movie and really recommend it if you haven't watched it.
