Saint Walker One shots

"When all seems lost..."

Author's note: Sorry this is a bit of a long shot, but hope you enjoy 😊

Everything was in flames, the sky had turned a smoky red, and all around people were screaming and trying to escape this terrible nightmare.

But one family held onto the hope they had, they didn't just hope, or pray but they believed they would make it out alive.
"Dad there are so many of them" said a frightened Peesh, Saint Walker's daughter.
Saint Walker and his family were inside their house trying to figure how they can get out without the Red Lanterns spotting them.
Saint Walker looked out behind a curtain and saw Red Lanterns soldiers murdering children and their parents.
Saint Walker looked behind him his wife Quanta had her arms around their children Jatt their son and Peesh.
"We'll think of a way" said Saint Walker.
"Wait there are the escape pods in the science experimental labs in case of invasions like this" said Quanta.
"Alright, stick together and we'll make it out of here" said Saint Walker.

Once the cost was clear they snuck between alleyways and hid behind houses so they wouldn't get spotted.
As they made there way towards the science labs they saw Red Lanterns killing many innocent people.
As Saint Walker held his family close his children were crying small tears fell down there faces.
"Why are they killing everyone? We've done nothing to them" said Jatt hugging his dad tight.
"I don't know why they're here but I'm going to get you out of here I promise" said Saint Walker as he bent down taking his children's hands in his.

"GET THEM!!" Shouted a red lantern soldier pointing his weapon at them.
"RUN!" Yelled Quanta.
Saint Walker grabbed hold of Jatt's hand with Quanta and Peesh closely behind.
As they got closer to the science labs, everywhere they went they saw dead bodies and people running around screaming.
"We're almost there" said Saint Walker.
Then in the distance, behind them they heard someone scream.
Saint Walker, Jatt and Peesh turned around it was Quanta that screamed and she was on the ground in pain with not much time to live.
"MUM!!" Yelled Jatt and Peesh running to her aid.
Saint Walker stood there in shock. No this couldn't be happening, it wasn't true, it wasn't real. Quanta couldn't die she just couldn't.
Saint Walker finally able to think properly knelt down beside her.
Jatt and Peesh had tears in their eyes.
"It's okay mum, we'll make you better again"said Peesh.
Saint Walker picked up Quanta in his arms and they headed down a small alleyway, he knelt down with Quanta still in his arms.
"Mum, are you...." Said Jatt as more tears sprung out of his eyes.
Quanta with the strength she had left she reached out her arms and wrapped them around Peesh and Jatt.
" I love you both now go..." she said softly.
As she rested in Saint Walker's arms again he said to his children.
"You must go to the escape pod and wait for me there, and don't look back, just keep running."
Jatt nodded, but Peesh was crying she gripped her mum's hand refusing to let go.
"It's okay I'll be right behind you" said Saint Walker.
Jatt pulled Peesh away and they both ran to the science labs.

Saint Walker looked back at Quanta.
"Bro'dee listen to me, you need to go and get our children out of here."
Saint Walker gripped her hand in his and kissed it softly.
"No I'm not leaving you here" said Saint Walker his voice breaking as tears fell down his face.
"There's not much time left, the children need you" said Quanta.
Saint Walker said nothing.
"Bro'dee I will always be with you and just remember All will be well."
But Saint Walker refused to let Quanta go so he picked her up in his arms and ran towards the labs.
As tears poured out of his eyes he almost felt an urge of anger dwelling within him, why did she have to die? Why were the red lanterns targeting his people? He didn't know what was going to happen but he knew his life wouldn't be the same without Quanta, his lovely Quanta.

"DAD!" he heard Jatt shout from one of the escape pods.
Then he saw red lanterns behind him he knew he had to get out of here fast.
As they were safely inside the pod and up in the air Saint Walker looked behind him. Jatt and Peesh knelt beside their mother and held onto her. Quanta was still breathing but she didn't have long. Saint Walker couldn't bear to see his wife and children like this but he had to be brave for them and they had to have hope that they would make it out of here.
Suddenly a scraping and scratching noise came from outside, the red lanterns were trying to get inside the pod. Peesh screamed.
A red lantern burst through the door and hit Peesh with a powerful blast from his ring.
"NOOO!!!" Screamed Saint Walker.
Then another red lantern came through.
Jatt hid behind Saint Walker.
As the red lantern came closer Saint Walker looked into his cold eyes and tried to punch him but the red lantern punched him in the stomach and he hit the wall behind him knocking him out.

As Saint Walker awoke he felt his head, he could have sworn he had a weird dream or vision about a planet and there was this voice telling him that if he came to this planet he would find a beacon of hope for the galaxy to stop the red lanterns from doing what they did to his people.

But as he sat up more straighter he saw before his eyes his son, daughter and his wife were dead on the floor, their bodies lifeless, their hearts not beating.
Saint Walker pulled them all towards him.
"No please no..." he whispered.
Then he looked up, he was in space he could see his planet in front of him. As his hand touched the glass of the pod his planet, the planet that he grew up on the planet that was so peaceful was blasted into oblivion right in front of his eyes.
He grabbed hold of his children and his wife and the pod got blasted away into deeper space.

As the pod slowed down Saint Walker opened his eyes the pod had stopped and it had stopped in front the same planet that was in his dream.
But how could that be possible?
But nevertheless Saint Walker landed the pod and carried Quanta, Jatt and Peesh's bodies in his arms and leant them against a nearby tree.
"I'm so sorry" he whispered as he gently stroked their heads.
Then he looked at his wife's necklace that was still around her neck, he took it off and looked sadly down at it.
He had no family, he was completely alone, he was left with no one. His beautiful wife and his son and daughter were dead.
As much as he wanted to believe they
weren't dead he had to move on. But there was still time to get his thoughts together and process what had happened to his family. As he looked back at his wife remembering her last words.
"All will be well." Those words gave him comfort they made his heart fill with Hope.
Then he looked at his family in his arms, he needed to bury them he needed to honour them.
As he dug his hands into the soil, his hands burned with ache and pain but he kept pushing through the pain knowing he would never see them again. The thought broke him but it was the right thing to do.
As he placed them deep in the ground he shed a few tears as he filled their graves.
After he finished he said a prayer for each of them hoping that they would find peace as they moved into the next life.
Then he placed his wife's crystal necklace on her grave.
Then all of a sudden his heart didn't feel sad anymore, he felt hopeful, not saying he was completely over their deaths yet. He would always miss them, he would miss them deeply and their deaths would leave a scar in his heart that no one could see.
Then Saint Walker looked up at the tree his families graves were under. He jumped onto it and landed on a long branch and sat on it.
He looked at the sky and closed his eyes knowing that his family would always be in his heart.
"All will be well" he said softly looking at the new planet in awe.

Wow okay sorry if this was a bit long, but I really enjoyed writing this first one and it got me really emotional while re reading it. But anyway until next time.
