Blackout

Prologue

" CHAAARGGGEEEEEE!"

Eclipse threw herself on top of Midnight, who toppled over with a startled gasp. She sat on top of him and sank her little puppy teeth into his ear and tugging on it, while cuffing the other one with her paws." Surrenda!" She tried her best to mutter through his fluffy black fur." Ow mwe awnd Ore will sewnd wou to da dungweons!"

Midnight yelped." Never!" He rolled onto his back, squashing Eclipse beneath him.

" ACK!" Came Eclipse's muffled cry as she tried to shove her friend off of her." Get off, you big fat furball!"

" Nah, I think I'll just-- WHAT? FAT?" Midnight leaped off of her in a heartbeat, before whipping around and batting at her head repeatively. " I am not fat, thank you very much!"

Ore came running in and leaped on top of both of them." You're just a furball! Literally!"

Midnight huffed." Is that supposed to make me feel better?!" He nipped at the fluffy brown wolf's muzzle, but his blue eyes glittered with amusement, showing that he actually wasn't that offended.

All three pups were a couple of months old, nearly old enough to become in-trainings. Eclipse shivered in exitement at the thought as tackled Ore for not coming to her rescue. It was going to be amazing! She would learn so many things! Like what alive deer and alive elk smelled like! How the Pack drove other wolves out her territory! And most of all... what the actual forest would be like! Her, Midnight, and Ore had pretended that they were in the forest, pretending that sticks were trees and leaves were bushes you could hide behind.

But this... this would be the actual real forest! Where her and her friends could actually play!

She'd even be able to sleep in the Iota's den! Even when pups became in-training, they would have nowhere to sleep except the Iotas den. And what was the reasons for this? Well.. there was no actual den for the in-trainings. So they had to sleep in any random den. The Alpha's den was not allowed. Gear, the old Beta, and Steam, the newest Beta, along with the two others, were grumpy and wouldn't like it if a bunch of 'rambling, loud apprentices' joined their den.

The nursery... well, pups needed move to room. The in-trainings would be in their way, and not to mention the mother-wolves would be more than stressed out.

And the Omegas den? Well... no one liked the Omega's den.

So yeah! The Iota's den was the only den that the in-trainings could sleep in. For now, at least. Eclipse hoped that they would soon create a new den for the in-trainings. Because it would only be her, Ore, and Midnight! And they could wrestle all night and mess up their bedding as much as they liked without their mothers complaining!

Well... there were Midnight's and Ore's siblings...

But they would just join in the fun!

Suddenly Eclipse stopped in the middle of bashing her head against Ore's side, when she saw four wolves run in. Steam, (one of the Betas), Shade, Calena, and Fuyu. She didn't think much of it, since they were just probably coming back from hunting. But none of them carried prey...

Maybe it was just a border patrol then... Eclipse thought, snapping back into the fight as Ore pinned her down and Midnight tugged him off of her. She struggled to her paws and leapt at Ore again. I'll do that someday...

Then, Midnight grabbed onto her." HEHEHE! BETRAYALLLL!" He threw her down to the ground, pinned her down, and sat on her. Ore laughed hysterically in the background, falling backwards onto his back.

Eclipse growled." YOU TRAITOR-" But she wasn't really in the fight anymore when she spotted Calena collapse to the ground, blood pouring from a wound in her neck. The healer, Quiver, rushed up to her with a mouthful of herbs in his jaws. Steam and Fuyu were both rushing toward the Alpha's den. Shade stood over Calena and... had he shot a glare at Eclipse?
