(not) Just Friends!

Chapter 2

"So how was your talk with Gayoung yesterday?", Minjae asks.

"Good..."

"So??"

"So what?"

"Did she finally admit her feeling?"

"If you mean her, feeling hungry...then yes she was...", Dohwan says casually.

"What???"

"She wanted me to cook for her..."

"Oh, God...Why can't she just admit that she was jealous...", Minjae grunts.

Dohwan rolls his eyes. "It's been 4 years...you need to stop with that assumption...". Like he did. He used to think that they have mutual feelings. But since that night, he knew that she only need him as a friend. So here he is. 4 years later. Staying by her side. As a friend. It was torture. And it still is. But he loves her too much to walk away.

"That's the problem...it's been 4 years...you can't imagine how frustrating it is...seeing you two keep saying we're just friends while the way you two act around each other totally tells otherwise..."

"Because that's what we are...friends...That's what she wanted us to be...friend...", Dohwan smiles bitterly.

"How about you? What do you want?"

Let's be friends forever...

Those words echo in his head. "I want to take a shower because I have a filming in an hour...", Dohwan gets up and leaves Minjae alone.

Minjae sighs. He hurriedly went to Dohwan's apartment this morning. Hoping to hear good news. But now he needs a nap from the headache.

Gayoung frowns when she read a message from Minjae in their group chat. A group chat that consists of her, Dohwan, and Minjae. Dohwan hasn't even started filming with Bona yet. Why would she ask for his number?

Minjae: Hyung, Jiyeon asked for your number...can I give it to her?

Dohwan is typing...

Gayoung's watching her phone screen curiously.

Dohwan: sure...

Minjae: cool...I'll text her...

Gayoung: why did she ask for Dohwan's number?

Gayoung curses at herself after sending that message. Why should it bother her???

Minjae: why not? They're going to work together...

Gayoung: isnt it too soon?

Minjae: the sooner the better...😘 I'll do the same if I am going to work with my crush...😁

Gayoung: oh right...good luck oppa 😁

Good luck huh? Gayoung sighs. Cringe from reading her own text. Why does she feel like the biggest liar?

Dohwan: what are you two even talking about...😮‍💨

Minjae: I think she's going to ask you out...

Minjae hasn't even finished explaining when he got a private message from Gayoung.

Gayoung: ask him out??? Like a date??

Minjae: No...miss Youngie...she asked him out just to get to know each other...so they won't be awkward when they start filming...

Gayoung: It's not even a full romance drama. Why would they even need to get to know each other? 😒
