Chapter 8

"Did I do something wrong?", Dohwan asks Gayoung. Clearly frustrated.

Gayoung fidgets nervously. They both sit in Gayoung's living room. Next to each other. But she makes sure to keep her distance. "No...nothing's wrong...", she didnt dare to look at Dohwan.

"Then what makes me deserve this kind of treatment??"

"It's just...I think I am not ready to be your girlfriend..."

"WHAT?", that frustration turns to anger.

"I am sorry...", Gayoung said in tears. She didnt even realize that she started crying.

Dohwan takes a deep breath. He wipes her tears and pulls her into a hug. "I dont know what was actually happening...but I know it wasn't because you're not ready...and I won't let you go till you tell me the truth..."

Gayoung sobs on his shoulder. "This is so silly...", she said between her tears. "Why am I crying???"

Dohwan kisses the top of her head. "I dont know...but I guess you're thinking too much again..."

Gayoung stops sobbing and blushes. Why this man has to be this sweet? She pulls away from his arm and straightens herself. "Dont you mad at me?"

"I will...if you dont tell me what made you avoid me like a plague..."

"I am...", Gayoung looks at Dohwan. Trying to guess how he'll react if she told him the truth. "Jealous...", she blurts out.

"What? Why?? Jealous with whom?", Dohwan looks at his girl. Feeling lost. He didn't think he has done anything that make her jealous.

"With Bona..."

Dohwan looks surprised. And then he laughs. Full blown a laugh. Like Gayoung just said something hilarious.

Gayoung frowns. Not sure if she should feel relieved or worried.

"I am sorry Youngie...", Dohwan said between his laugh. "I dont know why this is so funny..."

Gayoung glares at Dohwan impatiently. Waiting for him to tell her the reason why he laughs at her like that.

"Why would you even be jealous of her?", Dohwan finally stopped laughing and asked her curiously.

"She's pretty..."

"But you're 100x prettier..."

Gayoung rolls her eyes. "She's cute..."

"And you are...the cutest woman on earth...", Dohwan grins.

"And she likes you..."

"But I like you...", Dohwan's tone changed. He suddenly becomes serious. And looks a bit annoyed.

Gayoung frowns. Not sure about his sudden change of emotions. Was she being unreasonable? Or did he really like Bona?

"Okay, before your brain starts wandering too far...No Youngie...I am not attracted to Bona...not even a little bit...I have zero feelings for her...okay??", Dohwan explains seriously. From the frown forming on his girl's forehead, he knew exactly what she was thinking.

Gayoung pouts. How could he read her like that? "Then why did you suddenly look annoyed?"

"Because...", Dohwan takes a deep breath. "I am tired of hearing people telling me that..."

"What do you mean?"

"Hakyeon hyung found Jiyeon's old interview where she said that she wanted to play romance drama with me..."

Gayoung saw that video. Actually, it added one more reason for her to feel anxious about Dohwan and Bona working together.

"He shared that video in the group chat...I know it was meant to be a joke...but people on the set keep mentioning it...", Dohwan continues. "They said our chemistry must be really good because we like each other already...How could they just make that kind of conclusion?? Since when have I said anything about liking her??! Even if she liked me, it doesnt mean I have to like her back! And the worst part is I cant even say I dont like her, because it will make me sounds like an asshole...", he was beyond frustrated.

Gayoung reaches his hand and holds it. She didnt expect this kind of ramble from him.

"Besides...what does the chemistry have anything to do with how I feel about her? They keep asking me to be more friendly and sweet with her after filming...and it annoyed me! A good actor can show a good chemistry even if he hates his costar right? Am I that bad at acting so people think I need to have a real feeling for my costar?"

"Okay...now you're the one who's been overthinking...", Gayoung looks at him seriously. "You're good actor oppa...and I learned a lot from you...eventho I hate to admit this but the chemistry from behind the scene is still needed...for romance drama..."

"How can I do that? As soon as the director said CUT...I am Dohwan...I want to go home and hug you...", Dohwan pouts.

Gayoung smiles. Why is he so adorable sometimes. "Just think of it as part of the job...you're still Hansoo till you get in your car and went back home...okay?"

"That will be exhausting...staying on character for that long...", Dohwan sighs.

"I know...", Gayoung smiles in understanding. She knew it too well.

"You must be exhausted...", Dohwan looks at Gayoung. Finally understand why she looked so done after every filming. And being really quiet. Because doing this kind of work is mentally exhausting.

Gayoung rests her head on his shoulder. "Kinda...but I have you now..."

Dohwan chuckles. He kisses her hair. "Yet, you choose to run away from me..."

Gayoung straighten herself instantly. "I just remember something...Did you told Minjae all of these?"

"Yeah..."

"Instead of me??", she glares at Dohwan. "You trusted Minjae more than me??"

"It's not that I trust Minjae over you...I just dont know how to tell you this...I dont want you to see me as an incompetent asshole..."

"Why would I think of you as an incompetent asshole??", Gayoung really doesnt understand.

"Because I feel like I cant do my job properly...but
...", Dohwan glances at Gayoung. "Didnt you tell Minjae too? About your jealousy?"

"How do you know??"

"So...you trust Minjae over me too?"

"No...it's not that...it's...", Gayoung stutters. "I dont want my feeling to hold you back..."

"Come here...", Dohwan pulls Gayoung closer, let her rest on his shoulder. "I think we just need to be more honest with each other..."

Gayoung nods. "I am sorry...for running away...for not noticing your struggle and busy with my own feelings..."

"I shouldnt make you guessing at the first place...", he rests his head on hers. Enjoying his favourite smell. "So are you still jealous of Jiyeon?"

"Will it bother you if I say I am still jealous?"

"I am low key feeling happy..."

"Why?"

"I dont know...I never thought that you will ever feel jealous to anyone...so it felt nice...felt like you dont want to lose me..."

"Of course I dont want to lose you...", Gayoung pouts.

"I promise you wont...", Dohwan pats her hair. "How about we go on a vacation after all this filming over??"

Gayoung nods excitedly. "Where are we going??"

"Wherever it is...as long as it was with you...it'll be the best vacation...", Dohwan moves closer to kiss her. "God...I miss you..."

"I miss you too...", Gayoung's smiles melts in his lips.
