Chapter 10

Y/n's pov

Chan is so different around his dad. It's like he's totally a child. He's not cold, doesn't have his walls up and speaks everything he has to .

We were having brunch with us sitting on one side and his dad, opposite to us. Chan made sure everything looked real and it actually felt like he was in love in me. Is he that good of an actor?

"Babe there's something near your lips." He said pointing at them. I actioned asking if it's removed or not but he slowly cleaned it with his thumb. It was food crumbs but HE ATE IT? CHAN ATE THAT?

"Chri-, babe why'd you eat that?" I asked in a shock.
He just gave a smile and cut a small bite of pancake and offered me to eat.

"Oh my love birds look so happy with each other" his dad said looking at with pure proud in his eyes.
"Also Chan I'll be announcing you as the next CEO next month." He with a huge grin.

"Thank you dad, thank you so much." Chan said with the a smile that could literally light up this whole town. He was genuinely happy. I could see in his eyes, he was so happy, he could dance and sing out loud if he could.

After brunch his dad went away with his care taker while Chan and I walked up to the car.

Chan suddenly stopped in the way and turned out.
"Y/n" he said. His voice so soft, so delicate yet so happy at the same time. Y/n, my name never sounded this good before. Say it again chan, no keep on saying it for a long long time please.

"Yes?" I said still thinking about my name.
"Thank you so so much. I haven't ever actually thanked you I promise I'll one day." He said with a smile. I smiled back.

"Congratulations Chris" I said, not realising this is the first time, I'm using a nickname.
"I'm so happy for you" I said when he walked up to me to hug me but I ruined the moment. I ruined it all.

Bang Chan's Pov:
"Congratulations Chris" she said, she called me by a nickname. I was already so happy because of dad's decision and the girl I've been crushing on since the first time I saw her at the café just called me with my nickname.

I was so happy I wanted to hug. I always was this conserved cold guy but not today. Today I'm gonna hug this girl, and I'll give her the warmest hug because I feel like this might be the only chance to hug her.

So in order to hug her I spread my arms and walked towards her, but stopped as soon as I reached very close to her because she flinched?

She has her self defence mode on her? Why did she flinch? But then as soon as she realised what she did, she got back to the normal standing position.

"I- I am sorry, I didn't mean to flinch, it's just something personal, I really have no issues hugging you." She said and her eyes said she was regretting so much because she flinched. But it's never one's fault when the flinch, it's a muscle memory.

Soon my thoughts were cut off when she hugged me. The hug was the warmest, safest and the best I've ever received. She felt like I was at home. This all may be too early to say this but when you know , you just know.

She broke the hug. No y/n, don't break the hug, just stay like this.

"Let's go?" She said with the same bright smile she always had but this one seemed forced.

I opened the door for her, i always do that and i would always do that, because this girl right here deserves the world.

Y/n's Pov:
Our home wasn't that far, but that day, the distance seemed to have increased.
But the silence was comfortable. Earlier I thought, I ruined the moment so I tried to hug Chan back, thinking to make up for what I did but can only hope it worked.

Chan was humming a song that was playing on the radio. I'm glad his mood didn't ruin because of what happened.

"Y/n" he says again in that soft voice.
"Hm?" I hummed.
"You don't ever have to apologise for what happened today." He said, i know what he means, I know what he's taking about.
"Sometimes our body carries certain memories and it's totally okay if you brain needs time to undo those, don't ever apologise for that to anyone again." He continued.

No his voice didn't sound like an order. It sounded full of concern, like if he could, he would protect me. He felt safe.

"Thank you for understanding" i said looking at the road forward.

"Also if you ever need someone to talk to, I'll be there." He said but he sounds so serious right now.

I nodded.

"Now i should stop talking and be that cold and grumpy soon to be CEO and you be the bright sunshine that talks a lot." He said.

He called me sunshine? Chan called me sunshine? Oh god i might just turn as red as people get when the actually stand in the sun too long.

"So you agree you're cold?" I said.
"It'd be dumb to say no." He said focusing on driving.

That drive was the first time, he was casual with me but I really wanted him to stay like that. That was the first time I felt same around someone after so long. That was the first time I felt that everything I've been through is just my past and has no links to my present. That drive made me forget every single pain I've been through.

If we could choose moments to last forever I would choose that moment.
