Little Prince (Error x Passive Nightmare)

Ages: Cross; 16 Nightmare; 17

Nightmare was reading in the garden, his guard, Error, guarding him like usual. Sometimes they would talk, although it's usually just silence, although that's what happens when two introverts are put in a room together. The garden was full of many different kinds of flowers, and they pretended to ask the other to date them at times, although it was just a joke. Well, until it wasn't. Night had realized that he was starting to develop feelings for Error that made him want them to be more then just friends, but they couldn't be. He was set up to be married to a princess by the name Lily who was very smart and beautiful, although Night could never see the appeal. He was supposed to marry her once he turned 21 years of age, and they were currently dating, so he simply couldn't have feelings for Error. After all, he was just his royal guard, maybe they were just close friends is what he would constantly tell himself.

Even though Night was sure he didn't actually like Princess Lily, he was supposed to marry her and continue the family tree with her by having kids of their own, so he would have to just pretend, after all, he didn't want to disappoint his family.

Error had been Night's guard since he was 14, so he's been working for Night and his family for 2 years now. It wasn't too long before he noticed that he felt a weird feeling that he hadn't before while protecting the prince. After a year, the prince started inviting him to stay with him longer and longer, and he started reading him stories and telling stories on how he had gotten to where he was then, which interested the prince a lot more then he originally thought it did. See, the prince had started writing a book about Error's adventures which he found out about thanks to Ink, who guarded Prince Dream, Nightmare's twin brother. He had unknowingly blushed a bit when he was told, his normally black cheekbones turning a bit yellow.

Error vividly remembered every story, tale, and myth that he told Prince Nightmare. He told him about Greek, Ancient Greek, Roman, Ancient Roman god myths, he told him about the monsters he had slain, and many fairytales. Although Nightmare seemed to like every story, he really liked the ones that included Error in them, and he never knew why.

-time skip two years-
Nightmare had broken up with Lily 4 months ago, much to both her and his parents' disapproval. Error and Night had been dating in secret for about 2 weeks now, they would cuddle when nobody was around to see it, give eachother kisses, and even sleep in the same bed some nights. But never when Night's parents, brother, or any of the royal guards were around. They would keep their relationship on the down low for now, knowing that his parents wouldn't approve of him being with a commoner, the only reason his brother Dream could be with the one he wanted being because he liked another prince and promised to adopt kids, but they also wanted blood relations grandkids, and that's that Night was supposed to give them. Neither him or Error were planning to even adopt. But if you're wandering who Dream is dating now, it's Prince Cross.
