"I was living all along but am alive now." I once said
They say life begins at thirty-five but mine began at thirteen, at least that's what I thought 4 years ago.

2018
Getting to grade 8 was a pretty flower but getting a boyfriend seemed like an even prettier flower. But this flower had thorns, however scared I am  of thorns, I grabbed it with two hards saying ' you are mine', not willing to let go no matter how much it hurt.

"Mom I want to visit grandma Julia"  l told mom with pleading eyes.

Grandma Julia is my father's mother, when I was younger I spent every weekend their. She has a lovely home with a pretty flower garden on the banks of a stream in her back yard.
My grandfather mmm.., their isn't much to say about him. Expect; he has been my inspiration, he is a typical hardworking man, we don't get to talk much.

"When do you want to go?" Mom asked.
"On Friday after writing my last paper" I replied.
"Talk to your dad first" I knew she would tell me that.
"OK..." I said robotically
"Help me do the dishes" that seemed like a command than a request.
"You always want help with the dishes" I said under my breath.
"did you say something?" mom gave me  a shocked questioning eye.
"Me...no!, I did... I mean did not" I startled" where is the dishes washer liquid?" I continued as I tried not to let my sarcasm mare my subconscious. I cringe at the thought of talking to her in a sarcastic tone.

Dad walked in looking tired and I knew its now or never. Dad accepts to everything when tired. He is a man of his words so he always fulfils.

"Hello father." I greeted enthusiastically

"Hello, how are you" he replied

"Am fine thanks, let me help you with your bag " trying to persuade him.

"No am okay, just close the gate"

"Okay"

"Dad! Don't leave me behind, I want to talk to you"

"Not now princess and very tired"

"Please dad its important"

"Okay, talk..." He says with a frown

"Darling, let daddy rest. Check on your siblings in the living room" mom exclaims in a deceiving sweet voice.

"Yes mom" I storm in the living room and yell at my younger brothers, "stop fighting, Nicholas bring the remote and stop beating him"

I manage to stop the Deja Vu, after which I have to settle myself.

I spawn on my window sit, as I leave my dreams through books.

Dad has finally allowed me to go, am very excited more than the word itself.

I packed my bags as if am Leaving for a world's tour, even thought I was only going for three weeks. Insane. Its always exciting visiting grandma, after all it the only place in the world where I get to be the baby in the house and granny's full support is a cherry on a blue berry pie.
To mention that my grandma does not tolerate nonsense, so my baby attitudes has its limits. Its like they say to much of everything is bad.

After a week of  staying in granny's comfort, my aunt Tricia and I took a walk to the near by stadium. On our way back I met a guy that took keen interest in knowing me, in shot I was his love at first sight.

Him: hi Tricia, how are you

Tricia: hey Prince long time.

So am tired and we just hard to meet a guy named Prince.Great.

"Tricia can we go?" I questioned annoyed

"Easy there, what's your name" Prince asked.
Not wanting to respond I glared at him then Tricia, and she gave me the 'be good eye'
I faced Prince and gave him a cold smile"Julie"

"Tricia whats your Facebook username?"he asked

"Tricia cakes" she replied.

"And yours?" He turned to me

"Jeluv" I said looking on my phone

"Thanks" he cleared his throat"you girls   should be heading home, its getting late" he continued

I got a notification from Facebook saying I have a new friend request. I tilt my head, a low groan escapes my lips, it just had to be him, of all people.
I open the notification but before I could delete request. I think of how terrible he will feel, convinced myself a new friend wouldn't hurt, and that I will eventually stop replying and it would end there, With those thoughts I accepted the request.

End of conversation

First three days I was okay, but as days passed by I couldn't sleep without reading his texts, and everytime he texted I couldn't help but feel butterflies in my stomach. I developed sparks of love for him. I always wanted him to plead me to be his, I was  slowly but surely loosing the bet but it didn't matter because I wanted him but didn't want to show it.
