Chapter 13

"Ate Soleil, ang ganda mo po dito." 

Turo ni Wesley sa litrato kong nakalagay na ngayon sa isang folder. "I did well rin sa pag compile." Singit ni Leon kaya tumango si Wesley.

It was a sunny Monday morning and Leon decided to drop by and show me my final portfolio, sumakto pang bumisita si Wesley at Leya sa bahay kaya nagtaka pa kung sino raw ang lalaking kasama ko. Before they could think of anything suspicious, I opened up about trying the modeling path and they were really supportive about that. Expected, since they came from lovely families.

So far, I've been getting positive comments from the people that I know about this which I'm glad to hear. It's just that I think that I'm getting too much of it...

No one's preparing me for any criticism ahead.

"When are you planning to apply?" Leya asked, munching on the brownies that Leon brought with him. "I don't know, I guess next week? Next month?" I haven't really thought of a date yet and I still had to wait before landing an interview with the agencies.  I don't wanna rush anything when I'm still not ready.

"Pag sumikat ka, 'te Soleil, hintayin mo rin ako! Feel ko talaga, 'tong mukhang ito, bagay sa mga teleserye." Tumawa ako sa biglang sabi ni Wesley sakin. "Seryoso ka ba dyan? Ang dami mo ng sinabing mga pangarap samin." Leya looked like she was hearing this for the first time just like me. 

"Ilang beses ko na kaya naloko sila Ate Yvon at Kuya Klyde, sinasabi ko sa inyo, magaling ako." This cheeky young lady. Kaya pala sumasakit ulo nung dalawang 'yon palagi.

"Nako, ayusin mo muna pag-aaral mo. Kwinento sakin ni Yvon yung pagiging basagulero mo ah, jusko ka." Leya responded. To think that I'd agree on something related to not being chaotic, I'm changing. For the better, I guess. "Luh, I just defended my friend in need. Ngayon nga, parang takot na yung mga umaaway sa kanya sakin eh." At mukhang proud pa siya doon.

"Well, I'm on her side. Who wouldn't punch a douche for someone you care for?" Leon said and even patted Wesley's shoulder. "Wow, care for? Close na kayo?" Linipat ko ang tingin ko kay Wesley nang makita ang naguguluhan niyang mukha.

"Hindi pa ba obvious, guys?" Tinaas niya ang kilay samin.

"Alam mo, nakuha mo rin pagiging mayabang mo sa ate mo." I laughed hearing Leya's comment because I couldn't agree more. Si Kuya Klyde lang ata ang matino sa mga ganitong bagay eh. And that reminds me, It's been so long since I last conversed with him and I couldn't even set him up for a date. Here I thought I was helping Eliza.

"You have an interesting family." Nang maka-alis na sila Leya ulit ay ang natira na lang kami ni Leon dito sa kusina, inuubos ang brownies na dinala niya. "Yeah, they're very lively." I added to his comment.

"They'll provide you with good support once you face the spotlight." And hearing that reassured me. 

Being faced with a whole new thing— The eyes of a lot will definitely make me think and see things differently. I wish to know how it works. The industry, how cruel, how great, it may be. Curiosity is what hungers me to know more, to know better. 

I was always someone that would try new things when I was still a child, not that I've changed in the present at all. I just like doing a lot that I couldn't keep up and maintain the process of what I was doing in a particular thing. I'd always get stuck and be blinded by another new something that I want to try out next.
