📍 sydney, australia -> taipei city, taiwan.

the group of six had made it to the airport successfully, and with the help of the two mothers, they had gotten all their things inside the airport. check-in was almost a breeze, and security check, although a bit slower, went fine as well. but at least during check-in and security check they had something to do before the flight, because now they were doing nothing, waiting around for their ten hour flight to taiwan, where they'd have a few hour layover before catching another flight to london, england.

the waiting time felt like absolutely forever, some of the boys and the two girls swapped shifts of staying with their things so that the others could explore the enclosed section of the airport they currently sat in. there wasn't much to explore, though. just a few restaurants since the gift shops were all before security.

however, taylor and cassie decided to grab some breakfast before sitting down at one of the tables of the cafes. they both hadn't eaten at the house, since everything was moving quite fast, so they both settled for a light breakfast before they got on the plane.

cassie had eaten a cup of fruit with just a bottle of water, while taylor had eaten a butter croissant along with a strawberry banana smoothie. the two had sat across from each other at a cafe table, killing time for nearly 45 minutes, before they decided it's only fair to return back to the seats the boys sat at in case some of them wanted to leave.

but coincidentally, the two girls made it back just in time for a boarding call. so, the group had grabbed their things and started to make their way to the line up. however, before the two girls lined up, they decided to run for a quick bathroom break, and let the boys go ahead. so, when the girls made it back, they were a bit behind from the boys. but nevertheless, they made it on the flight with still enough time to kill.

after the two made it onto the plane, they discovered the plane only had two seats in each row. initially they had assumed the two would be sat next to each other, but to their disappointment, they discovered when looking at their tickets that they were assigned to sit in two completely different rows. so, both girls started looking for their seats. the first one to find their seat was taylor, discovering that she was not sat next to just anyone, she was sat next to calum.

calum stared out the window with his earbuds in, oblivious to the girls standing at the end of the row, so taylor nervously spun around to face cassie.

"i can't do it, i can't sit next to him." she whispered nervously, receiving a chuckle from cassie.

"don't worry, you'll be fine!" cassie reassured, however, taylor knew that cassie was lying. taylor had very minimal experience talking to calum, so she wasn't sure how she'd survive a ten hour flight sitting next to him the whole time.

"no i won't, you know how nervous i am around him." taylor protested. "can you please swap seats with me? you're better at talking than i am."

cassie shook her head. "you heard the flight attendant earlier, she said swapping seats isn't allowed." cassie reminded, which was true. the flight attendant mentioned that as they came onto the flight. "plus, i don't even know where i'm sitting, sorry!"

taylor sighed in defeat. "fine." she complied, turning back around. she took a deep breath. "this is gonna be a train wreck." she said to cassie before slipping into her seat next to calum, barely giving him any attention at first.

cassie smiled, continuing down the rows to find her seat. it took her a while after taylor found her seat, and in that time she hoped she was sat next to michael, or even just a stranger because she could've tolerated a stranger more than ashton. but, when she found her seat, it just so happened that she was sat next to the blonde boy who she had accidentally bumped into earlier that morning sitting at the window seat.
