March has always been such a dull month with, maybe one or two events that usually consist of birthdays or mental breakdowns. It's in the midst of winter and spring, still chilly enough to leave your bare skin prickly with goosebumps but the spring atmosphere is still out of reach leaving you stranded.

How depressing.

But for the first day of March, I will make an attempt of starting it better than my previous year. I did not miss my bus this time so my attempt has already started off great.

"Good morning [name]!!!"

My attempt failed.

A few heads turn to where the voice came from, then turn to me but shrug it off continuing their business. This is so embarrassing, I try to avoid eye contact with anyone. My shoulder drops as a sigh squeeze out of my body, refusing to acknowledge the familiar voice. Still mentally preparing myself, a figure steps in front of me a bit too closely, his chest being an inch away from my forehead.

Is that his cologne or his natural scent?  I breathe in. A refreshing and pleasant smell clog my nose, slowly losing myself. Forcing myself to snap back and gather myself, I finally face up to the person standing ahead of me.

"Hi!" the only person I expect to have this much energy in the morning, Huening Kai. His smug smile appears, tilting his head not breaking our eye contact.

"What do you want?" I furrow my brows at him, clearly displaying my annoyance.

"Why so grumpy?" He leans closer than before causing me to take a step back.

"Because it's 7 in the morning Kai," he lifts both his arms which I noticed were holding two cups of coffee, "I'm not taking it this time, I'm getting my own."

"What changed? you've always taken it for the past year and a half,"

"Nothing changed, I'm just gonna grab my own coffee." Before I could make it past him, he stops me with his arm, forcefully handing the coffee cup into my grasp.

"Take it before it gets cold, sweetheart." I roll my eyes in defeat leading him to widen his smug smile.

"[name]!!" Another familiar voice calls out for me, except this time I'm more relieved to hear this voice. In the corner of my eye, I spot Chaewon waving at the second entrance of the cafe. I head in her direction with no hesitation, glancing at Kai who was waving goodbye, to which I only return a slight smile. "I don't think I have ever witnessed a day where he hasn't gotten you coffee," Chaewon links her arm to mine as we walked through the halls.

"He has, I swear he has,"

"We both know he hasn't, that's pure dedication"

"So? it's not gonna cover up how annoying he is. I would've had a peaceful college life if he wasn't in the picture. it has gotten to the point where his secret admirers have been going in my dms asking what his favorite chocolates are or if he likes flowers or if he has a girlfriend, I even got asked if we were dating. The thought of it makes me nauseous." I shudder.

"Ok well, what did you reply to them?" She faces me.

"I told them that his favorite chocolate is mint chocolate, he prefers plushies than flowers, I wish he has a girlfriend so he has someone else to occupy his time than bothering me." Chaewon continues to face me, her brows raising from my answer, "What?"

"Nothing." I look at her confusingly before we enter the classroom we have together. We both head towards Soobin who reserved a spot for us on the left side middle row of the classroom.
